May 1, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Georgia Homicide Suspect Jerry Robert Hobbs. In 1989 it is believed that Hobbs former girlfriend, Dianne Quinsenberry was removed from a Battered Women’s Shelter in Cairo, Ga. It is alleged that Quinsenberry was beaten to death although her body has never been recovered. Recently Investigator’s with the Thomas County Georgia Sheriff’s Office developed evidence that caused a warrant to be issued for Hobbs.

May 1, 2009 - Investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force arrested Christopher Rogers, 19, at an apartment complex in Baton Rouge this morning. Rogers was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for his role in several violent robberies. Rogers was wanted in Ascension Parish for five counts of attempted First Degree Murder, six counts of Armed Robbery, six counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property stemming from multiple incidents that took place in March. Additionally, Rogers is alleged to have committed attempted Second Degree Murder on February 2, 2009 when he shot at a victim several times in Baton Rouge.

April 24, 2009 - On Monday, April 27th, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. the United States Marshals Service Gang Resistance and Education Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program will hold a graduation for two sixth grade classes of forty seven students. The graduation will take place at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Charter School for Science and Technology, located at 1617 Caffin Avenue New Orleans, Louisiana. The attending students successfully completed a thirteen lesson G.R.E.A.T. curriculum instructed by Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the Eastern District of Louisiana.

April 24, 2009 - A man wanted for murder in Palm Beach County, Florida was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) based in Roanoke and the Martinsville Police Department yesterday evening. Michael S. Marquardt, age 38, formerly of Boynton Beach was wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for First Degree Murder with a Firearm, Armed Robbery and Accessory After the Fact.

April 22, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office announce the arrest of Donna Wilson Hanna, age 47. Hanna was arrested on federal charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution, which is directly associated with Hanna’s State charges of Interference with Custody, a class D Felony in Arkansas. At the time of arrest, Hanna’s daughter was placed in the custody of a court appointed attorney. Hanna had been on the run since March 29, 2009, when she fled Arkansas with her daughter.

April 22, 2009 - While executing a search warrant investigators and Deputy U.S. Marshals recovered a fully-loaded automatic rifle, numerous rounds of ammunition and other loaded hand guns from the hotel room of the murder suspect they apprehended yesterday after having to shoot him, according to the Marshals Office in Florida's Middle District.

April 21, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Western Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jason Foerster, age 34. On April 20, 2009, Investigators with the Task Force received a tip indicating Foerster, who was wanted for a Federal Parole Violation resulting in a recent arrest by the Fort Smith Police Department. On March 14, 2009 Foerster was arrested by the Fort Smith Police Department and charged with Robbery, Fleeing, Loitering and Carrying a Weapon.

April 21, 2009 - Thomas Ford McCoy wanted in connection for the murder of a DeFuniak Springs man less than two weeks ago was apprehended earlier today by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force when he was shot by a Deputy after McCoy pulled a gun on task force officers.

April 18, 2009 - The Converse County Sheriff’s Office operating with assistance from the Douglas Police Department arrested federal fugitive Jeffery Doles at the Plains Motel in Douglas, Wyo., Friday, April 17. Doles was sentenced in federal court in 2007 for possession of narcotics equipment. However, when he failed to appear at the designated facility to begin serving his sentence, a warrant was issued for contempt of court and failure to self surrender.

April 17, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Western Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Rex Ellis Allen, age 49. At approximately 7:30 p.m. on April 16, 2009, Investigators with the Task Force developed information indicating Allen, who was wanted for Parole Violations - Petition to Revoke his Suspended Sentence and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, was in Mountainburg, Arkansas.

April 16, 2009 - In the early evening hours of Tuesday, April 14, 2009, members of the United States Marshals’ Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive Nelson Guajardo in the parking lot of the Spring Hills Suites motel in Pittsburg, PA. Guajardo was wanted by authorities in Clayton County, Georgia for numerous charges including Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.

April 15, 2009 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Cleveland Division of Police arrested wanted fugitive Matthew Carson. Carson was wanted in the State of New York by the City of Rochester Police Department on charges of 2nd degree murder. The Task Force was notified by Deputy U.S. Marshals in the Rochester area that they developed information which led them to believe that Carson had fled to Ohio and was hiding in the Cleveland area.

April 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals announce the capture of Joseph Elias George Ettima, 25, one of the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitives. Ettima was arrested by Mexican authorities Monday in Mexico City and deported to Los Angeles late last evening. Ettima was wanted in California in connection with the murder of his grandmother. Along with the homicide charge, he is also wanted for robbery, arson, child endangerment and parole violation.

April 15, 2009 - In December of 2008, the United States Marshals DFW FAST initiated “Operation Rain” focusing on sex offenders, specifically those involved in sexual crimes against children as well as non-registered sex offenders that could be prosecuted under the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. “Operation Rain” , which stands for Research, Arrest, Indict, Now was divided into two phases. DFW FAST “Researched” numerous felony warrants and during Phase I identified sex offenders wanted by various agencies within the Dallas & Fort Worth area. On December 9, 2008, task force officers conducted an intensive three day enforcement effort to kick off the operation “Arresting” 34 of the initially identified offenders.

April 11, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges for Child Abduction has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Kansas City, Missouri. Kathleen Mitchell was being sought on warrants issued in Crawford County, Arkansas charging her with Failure to Appear and a Body Attachment Order. In August of 2007, Mitchell was granted her first non-supervised weekend visit with her two children since they were placed into the custody of the State of Arkansas in June of 2006. At that time, Mitchell abducted the two children and left the area with the children and has been on the run since that time.

April 10, 2009 - On April 4th, 2009, after 18 years as a fugitive, Edward Charles Woods was captured by members of the United States Marshals Service, Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force in Columbia, South Carolina. Woods was arrested and charged with Indecency with a Child in Williamson County in 1990.

April 10, 2009 – A Florida woman wanted in connection for an armed robbery and battery on an elderly person was apprehended today by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force in Texas. Tracey Konewko was caught boarding a car ferry that crosses over Galveston Bay in Galveston, TX. The 45 year old Konewko of Escambia County is being sought for her participation of an armed robbery and battery of an 81 year old man that took place at his home March 12 of this year. According to sheriff’s reports the victim allowed Konewko and an unidentified man into his home in Pensacola, where she lured him into a back room of the home and they both attacked him. The victim tried to fight back and he was pistol whipped and then shot in the abdomen before they fled with his wallet.

April 10, 2009 – Michael Angelo Young was arrested without incident at a relative’s home on Wednesday, April 8. Young, 29, was the subject of Wyandotte County, KS warrants for First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery. The warrants stem from a shooting incident that occurred in October 2008. He was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting extradition proceedings. The Marshals’ fugitive task force, Operation Intercept, received information on Tuesday that Young was possibly staying at a residence on Emerald Shores Circle in Chapin. Lexington County investigators and Deputy Marshals initiated an investigation and were able to locate him at the residence the following night. SLED agents and Richland County Sheriff’s deputies also aided in the apprehension.

April 09, 2009 - Edward Porta, a former resident of the Spartanburg area, was the President of Porta Textiles and Porta Technologies, companies with extensive business contacts within the North American textile industry. On December 20, 2005, Porta pled guilty in the U.S. District Court in Asheville, North Carolina to the charge of Conspiracy to Defraud the U.S. Department of Agriculture. On May 2, 2007, Porta was sentenced to 38 months imprisonment for his role in the elaborate cotton import/export scheme that defrauded the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as banks and businesses in the U.S. and Mexico, to the tune of over 2.5 million dollars. On February 25, 2008, Porta was discovered missing following a scheduled prisoner count at the United States Penitentiary Lee County (VA) Satellite Camp. He has been on the run since that date and has been charged with Escape.

April 09, 2009 - Fort Smith, Arkansas - The U.S. Marshals and Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, a member of the River Valley Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Donald Dwyer, age 32. At approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 8, 2009, the River Valley Task Force developed information indicating Dwyer, wanted for 2 counts of rape on a minor, was in Fort Smith. By 2 p.m. the same day, Dwyer was in custody along with his girlfriend Heather Kissler, age 29, after being located at his cousins residence in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Kissler was charged on site for Hindering Apprehension and Obstruction of Government Operations by providing false statements to law enforcement about the whereabouts of Dwyer.

April 09, 2009 - A fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges of homicide by vehicle, great bodily injury by vehicle while intoxicated, and aggravated driving while intoxicated causing bodily injury, was arrested yesterday by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals and the New Mexico State Police.

April 09, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office worked together to capture a suspect who may be responsible for the death of a Pensacola man who was found shot to death in his car last year. Arthur James Roland was 28 years old at the time when he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car at about 7 p.m. on the evening of October 30. Escambia County Investigators had been working since then and recently issued a warrant for suspect Kenneth Eriby of North “V” Street in Pensacola. At 9:30 this morning at a motel located on Highway 29 in Pensacola the Task Force caught up with Eriby and arrested him without any problems. A female who was wanted locally on a Petit Theft misdemeanor warrant and two other local men who were also with Eriby at the time were also arrested on drug charges. According to investigators there may still be other suspects involved in Roland’s murder.

April 09, 2009 - On April 7, 2009, Kendrick Bell was arrested in Baton Rouge by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Bell was wanted by the Baton Rouge City Police for two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Illegal use of a Weapon, Assault by drive-by Shooting, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. Acting on a tip from a Confidential Source, MLFTF Investigators went to Bell’s last known address in the city of Baton Rouge. Bell was contacted, identified, and taken into custody without incident. Bell was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

April 09, 2009 - On April 8, 2009, Christopher Taylor was arrested in Baton Rouge by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Taylor was wanted by the Baton Rouge City Police for 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon in connection with the shooting death of Labaron Napoleon on June 27, 2008. Napoleon was found shot to death and dumped in Baton Rouge. The murder is believed to be drug-related.

April 08, 2009 - On Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at approximately 9:30am, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Strike Team Officers of the United States Marshals Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, and the United States Marshals Western Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, Shreveport, Louisiana, arrested Tummy Crenshaw and Gary Hogg in Shreveport, Louisiana. Crenshaw and Hogg were wanted by the Dallas Police Department on charges of capital murder stemming from a robbery and murder of the victim on March 23, 2009.

April 08, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the United States Marshals in the Southern District of Georgia was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Orlando Office of Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department on April 7, 2009, in Leesburg, Florida.

April 06, 2009 - Edward Woods was arrested without incident on Saturday, April 4. Woods, also known as Edward Aiken, was the subject of a 1991 Williamson County (TX) warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on an original charge of Indecency with a Child. He had been on the run for 18 years. Woods, 42, was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting extradition proceedings. The Marshals fugitive task force, Operation Intercept, received information from Texas last week that Woods was possibly living off of Biddle Road in Lexington. Lexington County Investigators and Deputy Marshals in Columbia began surveillance shortly after receiving the information and were able to apprehend Woods.

April 06, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and Benton County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jeremy Daniel Stewart, age 25. Stewart was arrested on April 2, 2009, in Bentonville, Arkansas just hours after the Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a credible tip from Texas regarding Stewart’s whereabouts. Following a vehicle pursuit in Bentonville, where Stewart was living as an unregistered sex offender, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and members of the NWA Fugitive Task Force arrested Jeremy Daniel for a Washington State felony warrant, among other local charges.

April 06, 2009 - Almost four weeks on the run for an elusive Southerland man came to a crashing halt near Savannah, Georgia yesterday. Larry Wayne Dodson, Jr., who escaped from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg on March 10, was captured after a high speed chase, crash and foot pursuit that recovered the fugitive hiding in a shed at a cell tower in rural Chatham County. With a task force comprised of U.S. Marshals, Lynchburg Police, and Blue Ridge Jail Authority investigators hot on his heels, Dodson was tracked and arrested without further incident.

April 04, 2009 - Thomas Outing was arrested without incident in Philadelphia, PA just after 11:00 this morning. Outing was the subject of a Lexington County warrant for murder. He was booked into a local jail awaiting extradition proceedings. Lexington County Investigators and Deputy Marshals in Columbia tracked Outing to Philadelphia early last week and provided that information to Deputy Marshals in Philadelphia.

April 03, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state and federal charges of murder, kidnapping, and probation violation (with an underlying charge of convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm) has been apprehended by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Albuquerque and Austin, TX.

April 03, 2009 - A man who was a victim of an aggravated battery last week in Louisiana died Wednesday afternoon after being taken off life support. The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested David Erin Nelson last week at his home in Crestview, FL who was accused of aggravated battery after he sucker-punched a man for no apparent reason knocking him out, losing consciousness never to wake up again. Nelson was taken into custody by the Task Force at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday while he was standing in the street outside of his home in Crestview. Nelson was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana. Okaloosa Deputies served the 2nd Degree Murder warrant on Nelson yesterday at the Okaloosa County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

April 02, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended fugitive Marvell Jones (age 20) this morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. in Elyria, Ohio, after a short foot pursuit. An alert Task Force Officer observed Jones walking toward South Park Apartments on Middle Avenue in Elyria. When approached by the Task Force, Jones attempted to flee on foot and threw a loaded firearm to the ground. Task Force Officers swiftly overwhelmed Jones and he was apprehended without further incident behind a residence near Maple Street and Middle Avenue in Elyria.

April 02, 2009 - A level 3 Sex Offender wanted by The Washington State Department of Corrections and by the Snohomish County, Washington Sheriff’s Office has been arrested. Eric Eugene Hartwell, 46, was wanted for Escape Community Custody and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Hartwell was arrested in Carrollton, Texas by Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Dallas/Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Task Force based on information provided by Deputy U.S. Marshals working for the newly created Sex Offender Investigations Branch in Seattle, WA.

April 01, 2009 - On the morning of April 1, 2009 the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with the cooperation of the Cleveland Division of Police conducted a sweep of the city for offenders with outstanding warrants for domestic violence. During the course of the sweep, members of the Task Force followed up on a lead that was sent by Deputy Marshals from the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) in the Detroit, Michigan office for a fugitive wanted for criminal sexual assault. The warrant was issued by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for a juvenile male for three counts of criminal sexual assault, kidnapping and a probation violation for felony robbery.

March 30, 2009 - U.S. Marshals are searching for two Sioux City men who are charged with weapons violations. Justin Albertsen, has been charged with being a user of illegal drugs while being in possession of a firearm. Albertsen, 21, is described as 6' 00" tall and 230 pounds and has a large tattoo of "WSL 13" on the back of his neck. Rocky Grimaldo, has been charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, conspiracy to possess a firearm by a convicted felon and possession and conspiracy to possess a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Grimaldo, 24, is described as 5' 10' tall and 240 pounds. Grimaldo has numerous tattoos on his arms, chest and forearms.

March 30, 2009 – Two suspected murderers were arrested this afternoon by the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force in Baton Rouge. Anthony Michael Hatcher, 18, and Dominique Vallier, 17, were wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department on multiple warrants for violent offenses stemming from shootings that occurred in the Boulevard de Province area. The duo was also charged with other individual robbery counts and Hate Crimes charges for specifically targeting Hispanic victims due to their nationality.

March 30, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Drug Enforcement Administration was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and SCMPD Precinct 5 officers on March 30, 2009, in Savannah, Georgia. Antonio Woodley was being sought on a federal warrant Conspiracy to sell Cocaine and Sale of Cocaine by the Drug Enforcement Administration issued in November 2008. The case was referred to the Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest him. A joint investigation was conducted by both the Marshals Task Force and the DEA to locate Woodley. Woodley had been in hiding since November 2008. Woodley was thought to still be in the Savannah area. On March 28, 2009, information generated by the DEA and Marshals Task Force investigation lead to an address in Savannah. Marshals Task Force investigators and SCMPD Precinct 5 officers went to Savannah, Georgia and found and arrested Woodley.

March 29, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force was busy this week after arresting five wanted felons. The arrests included capturing an escapee who fled from a custody in Massachusetts after jumping out of a second story window; and another who beat a up a man who is still unconscious.

March 26, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on March 26, 2009, in Statesboro, Georgia. Jeffrey Maurice Jones was being sought on a state warrants for Sale of Cocaine (2 charges) and Unlawful Use of a Communication Facility issued by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department in Pembroke, GA. Jones had eluded capture by the Sheriff’s Department on more than one occasion. The Bryan County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Jones.

March 25, 2009 – U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the recipient of the 2008 Wayne Leon Task Force Officer of the Year Award for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. This year’s award will be presented to Deputy Sheriff Mark McElroy of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy McElroy was selected as the winner of this prestigious award based upon his investigative efforts with the Akron Division of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Deputy McElroy has spent the past 17 years as a law enforcement officer assigned to many different units with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. He has performed professionally in every capacity beginning with his days on patrol and leading up to his current status as the liaison between the Summit County Drug Unit and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Deputy McElroy has been part of the Task Force for the past 3 years and has proven to be a true asset with his knowledge and ability of fugitive apprehension.

March 25, 2009 - The Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man wanted on a warrant charging him with two counts of Sexual Battery on a Victim Under the Age of 12 and two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior/Molestation on a Victim Under 12 Years of Age. The fugitive, Pedro Rolando Andrade-Romero was arrested without incident last night at a mobile home park around 8 p.m. by the Marshals Task Force. The warrant issued by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office charges that Andrade-Romero had allegedly molested a young girl several times during late 2008, as well as performing other lewd sexual acts of conduct during that time.

March 24, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced today that David McClary has been arrested. The 53 year-old McClary had been on the run for 25 years. In 1984 McClary was convicted of Rape, a first degree felony, and was sentenced to serve a prison term of 5 to 25 years.

March 24, 2009 - An America’s Most Wanted fugitive wanted on outstanding federal drug and racketeering charges has been arrested today in Boone, IA by the U.S. Marshals Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force (SIFTF). Brandon Cheville (aka “Suicide”) was being sought on a federal arrest warrant issued in the Central District of California charging him with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine as well as violations of federal racketeering statutes. Cheville is a reported member of the Mongols motorcycle gang and was featured on Fox’s America’s Most Wanted (AMW) in November 2008.

March 24, 2009 - After an intense investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Alabama and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Kansas man wanted on seven counts of failure to register as a sex offender. Today, Isaac Miller of Junction City, Kansas was arrested at 16th Avenue South in Phenix City, Alabama.

March 24, 2009 - John F. Clark, Director of the United States Marshals Service, provides remarks at the Lefkow Conference Room Dedication. "Because of her courage to speak out and her advocacy for reform in the protection of judges, things started to happen. Home intrusion alarms were funded by Congress and placed in hundreds of judge’s homes across the country. The Marshals Service began to receive some much needed funding to hire more threat investigators, protection specialists, analysts as well as support for more training, equipment and yes, a modern facility to analyze, investigate and track threats, our Threat Management Center."

March 23, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, Aggravated Burglary, and Bribery/Intimidation of a Witness has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Lubbock, Texas. James Michael Cantrell of Phoenix, Arizona was being sought on warrants issued in Santa Fe, New Mexico charging him with the numerous offenses. Cantrell fled New Mexico, and U.S. Marshals and members of the Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force (SWIFT) developed information that Cantrell was hiding in the Lubbock area. U.S. Marshals, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and members of the Dallas/Ft. Worth FAST Task Force responded to investigative leads from New Mexico and apprehended Cantrell at a residence in Lubbock without incident.

March 19, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals announce the arrest of Robert Tomczewski, a fugitive wanted out of the State of Maryland. Tomczewski was wanted in Maryland on outstanding charges of Parole Violation stemming from an original charge of homicide which occurred in 2000. Tomczewski was convicted of shooting an elderly male with a .22 caliber pistol during a burglary. Tomczewski was paroled in 2006 and was allowed to reside in the State of Ohio during his parole. Tomczewski violated his parole in December 2008 and fled Ohio and returned to Maryland to avoid arrest.

March 18, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, Walter Distelzweig, Chief for the City of Columbus Division of Police, and Franklin County Sheriff, James Karnes, announced today that Ishmael Bowers has been arrested. The 26 year-old Bowers was wanted on an alleged Aggravated Murder warrant.

March 18, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the North Dakota State Probation and Parole office was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on March 18, 2009, in Savannah, Georgia. Joseph Lee Wells was being sought on a state warrant for Parole Violation issued by the North Dakota State Probation and Parole Office. The case was referred to the U.S. Marshals North Dakota Fugitive Task Force for assistance in arresting him on March 4, 2009.

March 13, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force spent Thursday night targeting violent offenders whose suspected crimes all involved battery charges including sexual battery, assault with weapons and even a suspect accused of a hate crime. There were about 20 officers working together out rounding up the wanted felons from FDLE, Escambia, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Offices as well as Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola Police Departments who are members of the Marshals Task Force.

March 12, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, and Walter Distelzweig, Chief for the City of Columbus Division of Police, announced today that Rodney M. Conley has been apprehended. The 47 year-old Conley was wanted by the City of Columbus Division of Police for Murder.

March 12, 2009 - After an intense investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Montgomery office arrested two brothers and a cousin suspected of the Tuesday March 10 shooting death of Cortavius Roberts in Shorter, AL. Kemond J. Fortson and Kittrell A. Fortson surrendered to investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and the Montgomery Police Department yesterday. Today, investigators from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 17 year old Lorenzo T. Fortson in Montgomery.

March 10, 2009 - Michael McBride was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals - Sex
Offender Investigations Branch, and Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. This arrest was the culmination of a coordinated effort by the U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force, the New Hampshire State Police, U.S. Marshals from the District of Vermont, Middle District of Florida, the Sex Offender Investigations Branch, as well as the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

March 05, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the recipient of the 2008 Susan Graves Task Force Division of the Year Award for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. This year’s award will be presented to the Youngstown Division of the Task Force. During 2008, the Youngstown Division of the Task Force arrested 1150 fugitives, including 14 arrests for homicide. The unit also seized 51 firearms, 425 rounds of ammunition, over $12,000 currency and approximately 1 kilogram of various illegal narcotics. The success of the Youngstown Division over the last year has been a true example of the results accomplished when our law enforcement partners work together to take violent fugitives off the streets.

March 05, 2009 - Valued at $7,800, a gold watch forfeited to the government after a Texas brother-sister cocaine bust by the Drug Enforcement Administration will be displayed to reporters at the Arlington Convention Center this Friday at a special press preview and walk-through. The watch and hundreds of other costly items valued at $3 million will be offered at auction on Saturday during the U.S. Marshals largest jewelry sale of 2009.

March 04, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals in Booneville, Kentucky on March 4, 2009. Nathan Eric Cutchens was being sought on state warrants for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Auto Theft issued in Tattnall County, Georgia in January, 2009.

March 03, 2009 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested John Alan Lisenby in Mobile, Alabama. Lisenby was wanted by the Lanett Police Department for a Murder regarding the brutal stabbing death of his girlfriend Amanda Englehardt, which occurred in the early morning hours on Friday, February 27, 2009.

March 02, 2009 - Stanley Renard Tilley was arrested by the United State Marshals Service and the Winnsboro Police Department. A joint investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Texas Department of Public Safety had developed information that Tilley was located in Winnsboro, Wood County, Texas. Tilley was wanted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office pursuant to a capital murder warrant issued on October 13, 2008.

February 27, 2009 - Randy Lewis was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Office and the Lafayette Police Department. Randy Lewis is Wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for Attempted Murder, Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office for two counts of Attempted Murder and is a suspect in another murder investigation with Jefferson Parish authorities.

February 25, 2009 - The Dayton arm of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested a female in Wilmington, Ohio. Kendra Rollins, 34, of Middletown, was arrested for aiding and abetting Rodney Young, a fugitive arrested by SOFAST in December 2008 for Murder.

February 25, 2009 - Robert Moore III was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force after being mistakenly released from the Cuyahoga County Justice Center a few days ago. Robert Moore was one of eight men indicted last Wednesday on charges of drug trafficking.

February 24, 2009 - A cold case murder investigation was closed today in Nashville with the arrest of former Puerto Rico resident Roberto Rodriguez-Pabon. Rodriguez-Pabon, age 27, was wanted by the Puerto Rico Police Department for the car-jacking and Murder of Jorge Echevarria-Medina on August 31, 2001 in the city of Ponce.

February 24, 2009 - Today the people of Central Ohio rest a little easier with the capture of five fugitive sex offenders. Last week Columbus television station WBNS Channel 10 along with Central Ohio Crime Stoppers profiled 10 of the most wanted fugitives in the Columbus area. The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, S.O.F.A.S.T., a U.S. Marshals Service led task force comprised of federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations, was on the street simultaneously making the arrests.

February 23, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, SCMPD K-9, and SCMPD Precinct 4 officers in Savannah, Georgia. Roosevelt Brown, 47, was being sought on a state warrant for Burglary.

February 20, 2009 - On February 19, 2009, a first of its kind task force targeting sex offenders conducted their inaugural field operations in the Middle District of Louisiana. The U.S. Marshals Service led Sex Offender Locate and Arrest Team (SOLAT), a component of the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force (MLFTF), was developed in October of 2008 as an initiative to assist law enforcement agencies in locating sexual offenders that relocate to areas outside the investigators normal jurisdiction without complying with registration requirements.

February 20, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Patrick E. McDonald, U.S. Marshal for the District of Colorado announced Mexican Immigration officials and deputy U.S. Marshals worked together to arrest a U.S. Parole violator in Mexico after 6 years on the run. Scott David Steel was wanted by the U.S. Marshals for a U.S. Parole Violation and was arrested by Mexican Immigration officials. Steel was originally convicted for murdering a man camping in Glacier National Park in 1984.

February 20, 2009 - A man wanted in New Jersey for two counts of attempted homicide was arrested this afternoon by members of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF). Andrew Coates is wanted by the New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJ RFTF) and the Trenton, New Jersey police department for two counts of Criminal Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault and Weapons Offenses.

February 19, 2009 - The Dayton arm of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Strike Team (SOFAST) conducted a successful Misdemeanor Round-up February 17 and 18, 2009. Led by the U.S. Marshal Service in Dayton, the operation combined the manpower and efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies. The round up focused on capturing individuals wanted on misdemeanor charges including traffic, drugs, failure to appear and trespassing offenses that occurred on or around the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. SOFAST cleared 36 warrants which included 14 Physical Arrests and 7 Directed Arrests.

February 19, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested Norman Dean (DOB 12/06/76) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dean is accused of murdering Lavon Gaines on Hutchins Lane on May 11, 2007. Dean has a lengthy criminal record that includes felony assaults and drug possession.

February 18, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and members from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Jason Lee Able, a fugitive who escaped from custody last night while he was at an urgent care facility in Destin, FL.

February 17, 2009 - Ian Gregory Thow, a 48 year old white male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF). Marshals located Thow at the Edge Loft Condominiums on Northwest Kearney Street in Portland. The OFTF, in conjunction with Seattle Marshals, developed information that Thow was hiding out in the Portland area. Thow had previously been living in Washington until he learned he was wanted by Interpol and Canadian authorities.

February 16, 2009 - Jacob Poole was arrested by the U.S. Marshals led Western District of Louisiana Fugitive Task Force with vital assistance from the Lafayette Police Department. Poole is Wanted by the Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Department for Bank Robbery. U.S. Marshals Task Force Officers along with the Lafayette Police Department identified Poole in Lafayette, LA and arrested him without incident.

February 15, 2009 - A California woman sought for the parental abduction of her two minor children was arrested this afternoon at the Nogales Port of Entry after more than 10 days on the run. Maria Velasquez, 31, was wanted on a felony warrant by the Pinal County Sheriffs Office for custodial interference. On February 04, 2009 Velasquez abducted her biological children, ages 8 and 9, as they left for school in Casa Grande, AZ.

February 13, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Michael B. Dilla, apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Medina, Ohio. Dilla was wanted out of Florida for Assault – Felony Domestic Battery, Assault – Battery/Coerce by Retaliation and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force developed information that Dilla had fled to Ohio and requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with locating and apprehending Dilla.

February 13, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Justin Hurd. Hurd was identified, by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, as a suspect in the February 4, 2008 triple homicide of Kevin Young, Kinshasha Wagstaff and Jasmine Hines. Although murder warrants had not yet been issued for Hurd’s arrest, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police contacted Ohio law enforcement agencies, for officer safety reasons, and briefed them on Hurd.

February 12, 2009 - Members of the Mesa Police Department’s Major Felons Unit and the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Dwight Niblett at a residence in Mesa. Dwight Niblett, 48, was wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a murder that occurred in Los Angeles in July 2008.

February 12, 2009 - Thomas Pearce was arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Lake Charles Police Department’s SRT Team near Plum Street in DeRidder, Louisiana. Pearce has pending charges from Van Zandt County for Sexual Assault and Burglary.

February 12, 2009 - John Scott Gardner was arrested by U.S. Marshals and Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Deputies off Leger Road outside the city limits of Crowley, LA. Gardner was Wanted by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina for Sexual Assault of a Child.

February 10, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio and Huber Heights Chief of Police Robert Schommer, announce the arrest of Joseph Davis. Davis was wanted by the Huber Heights Police Department for Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon. On January 20^th, Davis is alleged to have been involved in an altercation with his ex-girlfriend. During the altercation, Davis is alleged to have viciously stabbed the woman. After the near deadly assault, Davis fled the area before police could apprehend him.

February 10, 2009 - 15 Most Wanted Addition - The U.S. Marshals announced today the addition of Joseph Elias George Ettima to the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Ettima is wanted in California in connection with the murder of his grandmother. Along with the homicide charge, he is also wanted for robbery, arson, child endangerment and parole violation.

February 06, 2009 - John Chaisson and Sally Bernier were arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force including members from the Hillsborough & Strafford County (NH) Sheriff’s Offices, with the assistance of the Nashua, NH Police Department. Chaisson was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Worcester, MA; including Armed Robbery, and Assault. Bernier was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, as well as Narcotic Distribution and Possession.

February 06, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Orlando office of the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force on February 5, 2009 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Elliott Crowl, 31, was being sought on a state warrant for Escape issued in Savannah, Georgia on January 30, 2009.

February 06, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Saratoga Springs, New York Police Department and the United States Marshals Service in the Northern District of New York was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task on February 6, in Savannah, Georgia. Jeffrey O’Dell, 34, was being sought on a state warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

February 06, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), arrested Samuel Nickolas (DOB 05/25/59) at his residence in Harrison, Ohio. Nickolas is wanted by the U.S. Marshals for a Supervised Release Violation that took place in January 2009. Nickolas has an extensive criminal history involving frauds including impersonating a Medical Doctor, Airline Pilot, and Federal Agent.

February 05, 2009 - As a result of cooperative efforts by the U.S. Marshals Service, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and Mesa Police Department, members of the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Oliver Maldonado, 25, in Mesa. Recently, a warrant was issued by the Maricopa County Superior Court for the arrest of Maldonado for Manslaughter.

February 05, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers arrested Vincent Barnett, 21, in Phoenix, AZ. Recently, a warrant was issued in San Diego for the arrest of Vincent Barnett for Rape by Intoxication, Rape in Concert, Kidnapping to Commit Rape or Sodomy and numerous other charges.

February 04, 2009 - Fernando Martinez, 36, of Kyle, Texas, was arrested in rural Hays County, Texas by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force with critical assistance from the Hays County SWAT Team. Martinez was charged in the United States District Court in Dallas, Texas with two counts alleging that Martinez possessed with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.

February 03, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and other task force member agencies in the hunt and capture of 28 year old Reginald Adams in San Antonio. On Jan 17, 2009, Adams was erroneously released from custody after a number of charges (including a murder charge) had been dismissed.

February 02, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Ryan C. Thompson, apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Akron. Thompson was wanted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office out of Marion County, Ohio, where he is facing charges of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Parole Violation.

January 30, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals led- Arizona Warrant Apprehension Network and Targeted Enforcement Detail (AZ WANTED), Arizona Department of Public Safety - DPS (Violent Crimes Apprehension Team – VCAT), and Maricopa County Adult Probation (MCAP) arrested Anthony Soto in Phoenix, AZ. Anthony Soto was wanted for aggravated assault on a police officer.

January 30, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), arrested Tremell Jones a.k.a. “Jelly” (DOB 08/03/79) at his girlfriend’s house in Lockland, Ohio. Jones is wanted by the Fairfield Police Department for a home invasion robbery that took place in August 2008. Jones has an extensive criminal history including numerous arrests and convictions for assaults and drug trafficking.

January 28, 2009 - U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio James M. Wahlrab announces the arrest of Nelson B. Crawford, a fugitive wanted by the Eastern District of Missouri and by the Central District of California. On February 18, 1999, a warrant for the arrest of Crawford was issued by the Federal Court in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2001, a Federal Grand Jury in Los Angeles, California indicted Crawford for conspiracy to import cocaine and for importing cocaine into the United States.

January 27, 2009 - Two fugitives wanted by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Eastern North Carolina Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Bryan county Sheriff’s Department. Christopher Hair, 26 and Jena Sterno, 19, were being sought on warrants issued in Bryan County for Sale of Controlled Substances.

January 27, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department was in Ridgeland, South Carolina on January 27, 2009. David W. Sikes, 39, was being sought on a warrant issued in Chatham County charging him with escape from the Coastal Transitional Center in Savannah, Georgia.

January 26, 2009 - The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) New Orleans office along with the New Orleans Police Department arrested Christopher Cyrus, 23, in New Orleans, LA. Cyrus was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for 3 counts of aggravated burglary, simple burglary of a residence, attempted aggravated rape and a parole violation warrant issued by the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole.

January 26, 2009 - A Baton Rouge man wanted for the murders of Dustin and Beth Duncan was arrested this afternoon by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Charles Young, 21, was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for the execution style double murder that occurred on January 7th. MLFTF Investigators began the investigation to locate Young shortly after the crime occurred.

January 26, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Terry Edward Hayes. Hayes was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals and River Valley Task Force Officers in Van Buren, AR. Hayes, a local Fayetteville wrecker service business owner, was wanted by Washington County for aggravated assault on a family member, terrorist threatening, endangering the welfare of a minor, and possession of a firearm. Hayes is also a registered sex offender in Washington County, Arkansas.

January 26, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in Nichols, New York. Michael S. Every, 48, was being sought on a warrant after being indicted in Chatham County, Georgia charging him with nine counts of Child Molestation and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.

January 24, 2009 - Richard Malave, 28, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force including the Hillsborough County (NH) Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Cambridge, MA Police Department, and MA Probation Officers. Malave was arrested on two outstanding NH warrants, including First Degree Assault, Robbery, and a variety of other arrest warrants issued in Massachusetts.

January 23, 2009 - The United States Marshal Service CUFFED Fugitive Task Force in conjunction with Wayne County Sheriff Greg Farley announced the success of Operation “FIRST STRIKE.” This multi law enforcement initiative was a versatile operation that concluded in the arrest of twenty-three individuals that had outstanding fugitive warrants issued by the Magistrate Court of Wayne County.

January 23, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) as well as Officers from Avondale Police Department arrested Floyd Davidson, Jr. Davidson was wanted by Maricopa County Superior Court for failing to register as a sex offender and violation of his probation.

January 23, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Michael Rodriguez. Rodriguez was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on January 21, 2009 in Toledo, Ohio. Rodriguez, 36, was wanted in Michigan for violating his Parole and for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. His original conviction in 2005 was for Rape.

January 23, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the capture of violent fugitive William Paige. Paige was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Lima Police Department. Paige was wanted on numerous felony charges including Armed Kidnapping of a Child, Attempted Armed Kidnapping of a Child, Stalking/ Assault, and Assault with a Firearm/Felon in Possession of a Firearm/Attempted Armed Kidnapping of a Child.

January 22, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Zachary M. Wisor. Wisor, a convicted sex offender, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals at an address in Beaufort, South Carolina, bringing to end a 2 week man hunt and what will soon be the safe return of 15 year-old runaway teen from Athens, Ohio who was reported missing on January 5th.

January 22, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers with the Arizona WANTED Fugitive Task Force, District of Colorado (Denver) and the Pueblo Police Department arrested Sean Clark, 33, in Pueblo, Colorado. Clark, a convicted sex offender, was wanted by the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department for violating the conditions of his probation, having originally been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor.

January 22, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Thunderbolt Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Bloomingdale Police Department. Russell Allan Green, 24, was being sought on a warrants issued in Thunderbolt, Georgia charging him Robbery, Cruelty to Children, and Simple Battery (Domestic Violence Act).

January 22, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals New Orleans Fugitive Task Force. Angela Fennell, 28, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging her with Armed Robbery.

January 21, 2009 - Sex offender, Steven R. Jackson, is no longer able to hide thanks to the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Jackson was wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department for Failure to Provide Notice of Change of Address, and by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority (APA) for Parole Violation. Jackson was previously convicted of Rape.

January 20, 2009 - The last of the 3 suspects wanted in connection with a double-homicide that appeared to be leaning towards a cold case was arrested on Monday, January 19, 2009. Melvin C. Avina, 33, considered armed and dangerous was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident.

January 18, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and Benton County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Patricia Thompson, age 43, and Larry Cook, age 69. Following a three week long investigation, and with the help of a confidential source developed by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson was arrested on January 17, 2009, in Benton County. Cook, a level 4 sex offender, who was traveling with Thompson, was also arrested.

January 17, 2009 - Jesse Sloan,39, was arrested in Fort Garland by members of the Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group (FLAG), the Alamosa Police Department, the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado State Patrol, and parole officers from the Colorado Department of Corrections. Sloan was wanted by the Colorado Department of Corrections for parole violation on original charges of escape and theft. Sloan had an extensive criminal history and was known to use aliases.

January 16, 2009 - The United States Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Pensacola announces the arrest of a wanted sex offender and suspected rapist by the Marshals Office in Nashville, TN. Chad Alioth, 32, was wanted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Register and for Sexual Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

January 16, 2009 - U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrests fugitive pilot and four others on Tuesday, January 13, 2009.

January 16, 2009 - On 1/15/09, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, in Van Buren, AR received information there was a possible run-away victim from Columbus, Ohio in the Van Buren area staying with a man by the name of William Coles, a 39 year old white male.

January 15, 2009 - On January 14th, 2009, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) New Orleans office arrested David Stann, 26, at his residence in New Orleans, LA. Stann is the suspect of a homicide that occurred in Detroit, Michigan. Stann has been booked into the Orleans Parish prison and is waiting extradition to Detroit, Michigan.

January 14, 2009 - U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, James Wahlrab, and Acting Chief for the Columbus Division of Police, Antone Lanata announced today that Terron Demarr Jones has been apprehended. The 19 year old Jones was wanted by the Columbus Division of Police for Rape and Kidnapping. The warrants for Jones were issued after it was alleged that he brutally raped a female victim at gunpoint on January 11, 2008.

January 14, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 officers and other Corrections officers. Jesse James Holliday (aka Jesse James Brandt), 38, was being sought on a warrant charging him with escape.

January 14, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested Demetrius Laron Ruff a.k.a. “Meaty” (DOB 12/06/76) during a felony traffic stop in Cincinnati, OH. Ruff is accused of murdering a 14 year-old juvenile in broad daylight in the Cumminsville neighborhood nearly two years ago.

January 14, 2009 - Fugitive Marcus Schrenker remains in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital this morning receiving treatment for what appears to have been self-inflicted wounds to the wrist and forearm of his left arm. He is still under the custody of U.S. Marshals at this time. Schrenker was discovered approximately 10:00 p.m. last evening in a tent at the KOA campground near Quincy, Fla., in Gadsden County.

January 13, 2009 - Jerel Carter, 18, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and Pflugerville Police in Pflugerville, Texas without incident. Carter was recently charged in Albuquerque, New Mexico for his alleged involvement in a November 2008 gang related shooting that left Irvin Samuels dead at the scene as a result of several gun shot wounds.

January 13, 2009 - This evening, members of a Florida-based U.S. Marshals Service task force found fugitive Marcus Schrenker at a campground near Quincy, Fla., in Gadsden County. Acting on information received, a group of about 20 task force members, along with state and local authorities, approached a tent with Schrenker inside.

January 13, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service has assumed the lead federal agency role in the apprehension efforts surrounding missing pilot Marcus Schrenker, after state warrants were issued in Indiana charging Schrenker with securities fraud. The U.S. Marshals Southern District of Indiana, headquartered in Indianapolis, and its Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, located in Chicago, are coordinating the agency’s apprehension efforts.

January 12, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of indicted Trotwood Ohio Shooter Michael Carr. An indictment had been returned against Carr by the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on four counts of Felonious Assault, two counts of having weapons under disability, and illegal possession of a firearm in liquor permit premises.

January 12, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and SCMPD Special Investigations Detective in Savannah, Georgia. Malcolm Xavier Tartt, 18, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault by pointing a shotgun and threatening to shoot the victim.

January 12, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Texas Rangers and the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office in the hunt for a murder suspect that had shot three females.

January 09, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force spent Friday hitting the streets of San Antonio and surrounding communities looking for and apprehending multiple fugitives in various locations.

January 09, 2009 - Members of the United States Marshals Service Hornet’s Nest Fugitive Task Force arrested Alex Zavala-Morales, 48, in Charlotte on January 08, 2009 for four counts of third degree rape and endangering the welfare of a 15 year old girl.

January 09, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force is off to a busy start in 2009 after arresting five wanted felons, including two sex offenders.

January 08, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service would like to announce Columbus, Ohio federal fugitive Rebecca Parrett is the featured fugitive on www.amw.com, the website for America’s Most Wanted. Rebecca Parrett is a felon who jumped her bond in March 2008 after being convicted in a high profile, $3 billion fraud case.

January 08, 2009 - U.S. Marshals in Southern California are more determined than ever to bring Frederick McLean to justice. McLean, an alleged sexual predator, is on the run and U.S. Marshals believe his crimes are so heinous they earned him a spot on the Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted fugitive list in 2006.

January 08, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service has arrested a Wilmington man wanted for a murder that occurred in the City of Wilmington during December. Wilmington Police were investigating a homicide of a man that occurred on December 10, 2008. The investigation revealed Morris J. Hudson, 27, was wanted for the homicide.

January 08, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals in Atlanta, acting on a tip from the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, arrested Robert Mayberry a.k.a. “One-Eyed Kenny” in Atlanta, GA. Mayberry is the leader of the “Grimmie” gang, which controlled the drug trade around Avondale for years. Mayberry is wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and Explosives on federal charges of Distribution of Heroin. Mayberry had been on the run for nearly two years.

January 07, 2009 - Latwan Brown, a 30 year old black male was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Northern District of California at his mother’s residence on West Industrial Boulevard in Hayward, California. Brown has been charged in the shooting death of 31-year-old Darshawn Cross that took place at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Northeast Portland during a funeral for Cross’s grandmother.

January 06, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Jasper County, South Carolina Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Savannah, Georgia. Kelly Lamont Anderson, 32, was being sought on a warrants issued in Jasper County, South Carolina charging him with Trafficking in Crack Cocaine, Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and a warrant issued by the South Carolina Department of Parole for probation violation for a previous drug charge.

January 05, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and Fayetteville Police Department, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jason Stallcup, age 37. Stallcup has a violent criminal past dating back to 2000, when he was arrested and convicted for several charges including kidnapping, burglary, and battery.

December 26, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals - Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force announced the arrest of Anthony D. Scarfone, 23, a previously convicted sex offender and one of Brevard Counties Most Wanted. Scarfone was wanted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office for 9 counts of Capital Sexual Battery, and 5 counts of Lewd & Lascivious on a minor under the age of 16. Scarfone was arrested on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, working at a hotel in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

December 23, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Edward Baughman, 56, in Mesa, AZ. In October 2008 a warrant was issued in Oklahoma City for the arrest of Edward Baughman for Rape. Shortly after being contacted by Oklahoma authorities regarding the incident Edward Baughman fled Oklahoma and his run from the law spanned three states in his attempt to avoid capture.

December 22, 2008 - Capture of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - Sarah Pender was arrested in Chicago by local authorities. An anonymous tip was received less than two hours after Pender was profiled on Fox’s America’s Most Wanted, and police were able to pinpoint Pender’s whereabouts. Pender was behind bars serving a 110-year sentence for murder in the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana before she escaped in August.

December 17, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force today announced the arrest of Kentavious Martin, 18, for the offenses of Attempted 1st Degree Homicide, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

December 15, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Sylvania, Georgia Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Greenville, South Carolina on December 12, 2008. Juan Manuel Velazquez Garcia, 20, was being sought on a 2006 warrant issued in Sylvania, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault with Intent to Rape.

December 14, 2008 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) assisted by the SAPD and the Windcrest Police Department arrested murder suspects Jason Betts and Mithrellas Curtis in San Antonio/Windcrest area. The arrest and capture were based on leads developed by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) sponsored Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, USMS personnel in Florida and LSFTF members in San Antonio.

December 11, 2008 - Howard Christian Sullivan, 22, of Marianna, FL was wanted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on charges of felony murder and armed robbery with a deadly weapon in connection with the stabbing of Roger Donell Horne during a home-invasion robbery in Greenwood. Task force members developed leads revealing Sullivan was in the Tallahassee area, and after 24 hours of investigation involving multiple surveillances, Sullivan was apprehended today.

December 10, 2008 - A dedication ceremony was held this morning at the Franklin Police & Fire High School where a new obstacle course to be used by the students of Franklin High School was opened. The main contributors for the obstacle course were the U.S. Marshals Posse and D.L. Withers Construction.

December 09, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service for the Northern District of Texas announced today the completion of a three day operation to locate, apprehend, and bring to justice individuals in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area wanted on sex related charges. The three day operation resulted in 30 subjects arrested, with a combined criminal history that reflects 173 prior arrests, 27 of these being for Sex Offenses.

December 09, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in New York City, New York. Devon Emanuel Richardson, 19, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Murder.

December 09, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals, Task Force Officers, Arizona DPS Detectives and Officers with the Payson Police Department arrested Ronald Stahlman, 55, in Payson, AZ. In 1979 a warrant was issued in Warren, Ohio for the arrest of Ronald Stahlman for Homicide. Shortly after the allegations were made Stahlman fled Ohio and hadn’t been heard from since.

December 04, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with officers from the Cleveland Police Department, apprehended fugitive Brazzie Bryant at a residence in Cleveland, OH. Bryant (age 33) was wanted by the Wheeling Police Department in West Virginia for charges of sexual assault of a minor.

December 04, 2008 - U.S. Marshals Mid-South Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) capture violent fugitive Eric Littlejohn also known as “Dutch,” while trying to evade officers in West Memphis, Arkansas. Eric Littlejohn was wanted by the Memphis Police Department for Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest. Littlejohn was also wanted by the Pontotoc Mississippi Sheriff Office for Fraud.

December 02, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals arrested a Fremont man who was wanted by the Republic of Mexico for a rape that was committed in 2001. Martin Alvarez-Landeros fled to the United States to avoid prosecution by authorities in the state of Jalisco. Mexican authorities requested formal extradition and the Department of Justice Office of International Affairs requested the assistance of the United States Marshals Service in locating the subject.

December 02, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) has been honored by the Miami Valley Crime Stoppers with a “Special Award” for their hard work and accomplishments over the past year.

November 24, 2008 - Addition of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - The U.S. Marshals announced today the addition of Joseph Allen Garcia to the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Garcia is wanted in Texas on charges of murder, manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and failure to appear. He is also wanted on a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

November 21, 2008 - The Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, operationally led by the U.S. Marshals Service Fayetteville Division and fiscally managed by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, has arrested more than 550 fugitives since full time operations began in January 2008. Of those 550 fugitives, more than 30 fail to register (as a sex offender), 23 sexual assault, 28 rape, 43 state parole violations, and 61 probation violation arrests are attributed directly to the Task Force.

November 19, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced the successful one year anniversary in October 2008 of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) in Dayton, Ohio. SOFAST is a U.S. Marshals lead fugitive task force comprised of deputies and officers from 20 local and state law enforcement agencies and covers the greater Miami Valley which includes Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby counties.

November 19, 2008 - Jonnetrich Price, 17, of Perry, FL was wanted by the Perry Police Department for the offense of Sexual Battery by using Threat of Deadly Weapon and Burglary of a Dwelling. These charges stem from an incident that occurred in Perry, FL on November 15, 2008. Price has previously been adjudicated as an adult and is associated with the Cashville Gang, a criminal street gang in Perry, Florida.

November 17, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the Phoenix based Child Predator Apprehension Team in addition to the Northern California Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive sex offender and former Catholic Priest Wilputte Alanson Sherwood, 63, as he was leaving the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in San Francisco, California.

November 15, 2008 - Capture of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - Uniformed officers from the Lavonia Police Department captured U.S. Marshals '15 Most Wanted' fugitive, Johnny Mack Brown. Brown was captured in a wooded area in Franklin County after being spotted as he walking along railroad tracks in the area. Brown, who escaped Oct. 13 from Hays State Prison in Trion, GA, was added to the Marshals' Most Wanted list on Halloween night.

November 15, 2008 - The San Diego Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Brown in Hillcrest on two outstanding homicide warrants. Brown is wanted by the Indianapolis Metro Police Department in Indianapolis, IN for the murder of two Decatur Township men. Brown allegedly killed two men in their home with a blunt object.

November 14, 2008 - A convicted sex offender recently profiled by the Virginia State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service on WSLS-TV’s weekly segment “10’s Most Wanted” was arrested without incident in Roanoke. George Raymond Howett, 43, of Roanoke had spent the past twenty years incarcerated in the Virginia Department of Corrections before being released on probation in January of this year.

November 13, 2008 - On 11/12/08, Calvin “Naked Mouth” Waters was arrested in Baton Rouge by members of the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force for Attempted Second Degree Murder, Second Degree Battery, Aggravated Burglary, and Illegal Use of a Weapon.

November 08, 2008 - Brandy Lynn Baggett, a 20 year old white female, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF). The OFTF members were advised that Baggett had taken her daughter from the Florida Department of Children and Families Custody Center (FDCFC) on October 29th, 2008 against a court order issued by a local judge. The abduction of the baby was posted on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) website.

November 07, 2008 - United States Marshal Federico Rocha announces that David Sanchez, one of two brothers wanted by the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, was arrested Tuesday evening outside an IN-N-OUT restaurant at Fisherman’s wharf in San Francisco. David Sanchez and his brother Leo are suspects in an assault involving an assault riffle. Leo Sanchez remains at large.

November 07, 2008 - On November 6th, 2008 the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Fugitive Task Force (GCVFTF) arrested Pedro Duran, 32, at the Palace Inn, in Houston, Texas. Also, on November 6th, 2008 the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested Renil Escobar-Rivera, 29, in San Antonio, Texas. Both subjects were the final two at-large suspects in a recent quadruple homicide.

November 06, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals, Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested David McGlothlin in Cincinnati, OH after the SOFAST unit received a tip putting McGlothlin in the Cincinnati area. McGlothlin has been on the run for over 19 months and has been on the Arkansas Most Wanted List for over a year. McGlothlin escaped from a federal institution where he was serving prison time for a conviction involving multiple counts of interstate theft of motor vehicles.

November 06, 2008 - U.S. Marshals Mid South Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) arrested Darrin Pearson in Memphis, TN. Pearson, who has been know to resist arrest in the past, attempted to deny his identity, even after his associates called him “Darrin” but his numerous tattoos made a positive identification easy. Pearson allegedly shot a man, he did not know, 8 times with a sawed-off rifle on Christmas Eve 2007.

November 05, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals - Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force announced the arrest of Jeffrey Lynn Dourvalle, 40, a convicted sexually violent predator from Alexandria, VA. Dourvalle was wanted by the Alexandria, VA Police Department for Violation of Parole relating to a previous conviction of rape. Dourvalle was arrested on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at a family member’s residence in East Orlando, Florida.

November 03, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Eastern District of Louisiana Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force conducted “Operation Guardian” during the week of October 27th thru October 31st, 2008. Operation Guardian was a collaborative effort by local law enforcement agencies assigned to the Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force. The initiative’s main focus was locating violent sexual predators and non-compliant sex offenders in accordance with the mandate of the Adam Walsh Act of 2006.

October 31, 2008 - Addition of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - The U.S. Marshals announced today the addition of Johnny Mack Brown, who escaped Oct. 13 from Hays State Prison in Trion, Ga., to the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Brown and fellow inmate, Michael Tweedel, escaped by climbing atop a dormitory building to avoid an interior fence and scaling two perimeter fences and eight strands of razor wire.

October 31, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service in collaboration with Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Detention and Removal Operations (ICE-DRO) arrested International Fugitive Jesus Gastelum. Gastelum was wanted in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, on homicide charges.

October 30, 2008 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) arrested Victor Jesus Gonzales, 49, at a residence in Florida. Detectives with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) allege that in July, 1985 Victor Gonzales committed the act of Aggravated Rape in Gretna, Louisiana, while holding his victim at gunpoint. Gonzales was alleged to have fled the New Orleans Metro area immediately after committing this crime and has remained on the run for 23 years.

October 30, 2008 - From October 28-30, Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies collaborated on “Operation Safe Treat,” a three day fugitive operation targeting non-compliant sex offenders and those wanted for various other sex related offenses in Arizona. Operation Safe Treat netted law enforcement 22 arrests.

October 29, 2008 - The U.S. Marshal led Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) Task Force announces the arrest today of Carol HartT for escape. Hart escaped from the now defunct Detroit House of Corrections (DeHoCo) in September of 1970. Hart, then 23 years old, was serving a 25 – 35 year sentence for assault with intent to rob while armed after she and her boyfriend fatally shot a World War II veteran after a botched robbery attempt. She has been on the run since.

October 29, 2008 - A fifteen month run from the law ended last night in Memphis for a Baton Rouge murder suspect. Donovan Springer has been wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department since the July 28, 2007 incident that left one victim dead and another wounded. The Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force had been actively searching for Springer, even placing his profile on the U.S. Marshals, America’s Most Wanted, and Crime Stoppers of Baton Rouge websites.

October 24, 2008 - On October 13, 2008 inmates Johnny Mack Brown (52) and Michael Tweedel (48) escaped from Hays State Prison in Trion, GA by scaling the perimeter fence. Johnny Mack Brown was serving a life plus 70 year sentence and Michael Tweedel was serving a 20 year sentence. Investigators believe that Brown and Tweedel are currently still in the area but may attempt to flee the country via either the Canadian or Mexican boarders.

October 24, 2008 - A U.S. Marshal task force in Fort Smith, Arkansas arrested 23 year-old Kerry Devon Anderson, for a shooting incident that occurred on October 6, 2008, in Tallassee, Alabama, seriously wounding Elijah Bennett, 26 years old. Anderson was arrested at a residence near Ozone, Arkansas which is located in the Arkansas National Forest.

October 23, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was arrested by the Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Columbus, Georgia office and the Troup County Sheriff’s Department on October 22, 2008. Jerry Edwards, 26, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Child Molestation on a minor.

October 23, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service recently received information from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force that two suspects, one wanted for attempted murder and the other felony theft, were in Ozone, AR. With this information the River Valley Task Force - along with the Johnson Co. Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police - teamed up to apprehend the suspects. On 10/24/08, officers had the suspects in custody. Kerry Anderson is wanted on the charge of attempted murder. His girlfriend, Tiffany Chamblee, is accused of stealing $6,400 from a local McDonald’s in Tallassee where she was a manager.

October 21, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Farce (LSFTF) along with many other agencies conducted a two-day street operation developing leads and arresting sex offenders in Bexar County on October 19th and 20th. Over two dozen sex offenders have been arrested since Sunday morning when the first teams hit the streets.

October 21, 2008 - The United States Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force is asking the public's assistance in locating escaped federal inmate, Joaquin Rios who escaped from the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) in Pensacola, Florida. Rios was discovered missing at approximately 1:30pm when he failed to report for the hourly head count during his lawn maintenance work detail at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. It is unknown whether or not Rios received any outside assistance at this time.

October 21, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Jacksonville, Florida Fugitive Task Force. Ross Singleton, 33, was being sought on warrants issued in Savannah, GA charging him with Escape. Singleton was being housed at the Coastal Transitional Center on Stiles Avenue in Savannah after serving a prison sentence for trafficking cocaine, possession of burglary tools, obstruction of an officer and impersonation from a 2003 conviction.

October 20, 2008 - Addition of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - Sarah Pender was behind bars serving a 110-year sentence before she escaped in August from the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana. Today, she is the most wanted woman in America after being added to the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Pender, 29, was convicted in 2002 on two counts of murder.

October 17, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was captured by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on October 16, 2008. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of U.S. Marshals, Jacksonville Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest. Dellgra R. Knighton was being sought on a warrant issued in Jacksonville, Florida charging her with Bank Robbery.

October 17, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive David M. Burkhammer (age 27), at a residence in Akron, Ohio on October 16, 2008. Burkhammer was wanted out of West Virginia on numerous charges stemming from a high speed vehicle chase that occurred in September 2008. Burkhammer was also wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for escape, which occurred on March 21, 2008, when he fled a detention facility in Summit County where he was serving a sentence for felonious assault.

October 16, 2008 - Peter J. Elliot, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, announces that on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force assisted the Youngstown Police Department Street Crimes Unit in the apprehension of Kaqun Slocum (age 18), wanted by the Akron Police Department for aggravated murder.

October 15, 2008 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) along with the Repeat Offender Program (ROP Unit) of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) arrested 18 year old Vance Keenan who is accused of killing another individual with an Assault Rifle.

October 14, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Edmond Luis Goodman, AKA “Dewey Goodman”. Goodman was wanted by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Department in connection with the 7-18-2008 murder of Jason White, 26 years old.

October 10, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service WANTED Fugitive Task Force announces the capture of a convicted sex offender who fled to Mexico while on probation. The fugitive was considered one of Goodyear, Arizona’s most wanted fugitives. Authorities from the Sonora State Investigative Police (PEI) in Mexico located the fugitive, Dale Washburn, in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico and detained him at the request of the U.S. Marshals Mexico Investigative Liaison in Tucson, Arizona.

October 10, 2008 - The third of four suspects wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a man last month surrendered to the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force this afternoon. Chadrick Carter, 33, of Zachary, was charged with three counts of Principle to Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Second Degree Battery, and Criminal Damage to Property.

October 09, 2008 - James Edward Bonk Jr. was arrested by Mexican Law Enforcement Officials in Reynosa, Tampaulipas, Mexico for violating the immigration laws of the Republic of Mexico. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force Tyler division, Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force McAllen division, Texas Department of Public Safety Motor Vehicle Theft Service Athens and Mexican Law Enforcement in Tampaulipas.

October 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with officers from the Cleveland Police Department, apprehended fugitive David Tate in Cleveland. Tate (age 23) was the third male in a trio that are suspects in a series of robberies ranging from Euclid to Cleveland. Earlier this month, Arsenio Winston and Marshal Butts were taken into custody by members of the Task Force, the Cleveland Police Department, and the Euclid Police Department.

October 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, arrested fugitive Andy Ellenwood on October 8, 2008, in Toledo, Ohio. Ellenwood (age 57) was wanted by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office in Cordele, Ga. for violation of probation stemming from a conviction for Aggravated Sodomy of a Minor. Ellenwood was also wanted by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office in Macon, Ga. for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

October 09, 2008 - The 9th Annual Crime Stoppers of the Year Breakfast was held in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 2008 Crime Stoppers Media Award was awarded to WCPO reporter Shannon Kettler. Shannon Kettler’s passion for the well-being of the Cincinnati community is evident in all she does, but especially in providing the general public with significant and important law enforcement updates on wanted fugitives.

October 09, 2008 - U.S. Marshals in Denver, Colorado arrested John Richard Beato, who is wanted by the Tulsa Police Department for the homicide of 25-year-old Antonio Flores who was found dead in his mobile home days after the murder that occurred in August of 2007. Tulsa homicide detectives requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force in the apprehension of John Richard Beato. Tulsa detectives and U.S. Marshals received information that Beato had possibly traveled to the Basalt, Colorado area shortly after the homicide.

October 08, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals-led Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) continued their sex offender enforcement efforts under the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 by capturing convicted Sex Offender Ernest Dew, 36, yesterday in Phoenix. Dew had recently been named one of San Diego’s Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders and was wanted by the California Department of Corrections for violating the conditions of his parole, after having been convicted of Burglary.

October 07, 2008 - Capture of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - U.S. Marshals arrested 15 Most Wanted fugitive Luc Pierre-Charles Jr., last night in Rockledge, Fla. His capture marks the 200th Most Wanted fugitive arrested in the program’s 25-year history. Investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service in Tampa and Orlando employed extensive investigative tools to track down Pierre-Charles. Working on information received from the Pasco County area indicating he was in contact with family members in the Cocoa area, U.S. Marshals deployed to bring the fugitive to justice.

October 07, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers with the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Johnny Corrales, 27, in Phoenix. Corrales, a convicted sex offender, was wanted by Minnesota authorities for violating the conditions of his probation, having originally been convicted of rape.

October 07, 2008 - A Baton Rouge man accused of murder was arrested this afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Service at a New Orleans apartment complex. Sanchez Reddick, 19, was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Illegal Use of a Weapon.

October 07, 2008 - David Chenu, 30, an Austin area jazz musician and leader of the David Chenu Quartet was arrested last night by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in San Marcos, Texas without incident. Chenu was indicted by a Comal County Grand Jury on October 1, 2008, alleging six counts involving indecency and aggravated sexual assaults against a minor child.

October 07, 2008 - Aurelio Duran, 45, was arrested this morning by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at approximately 7:00 am in Florence, Texas without incident. Duran was charged in the Chicago area suburb of Round Lake Beach in February of 2008 following an investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a minor in 2001. Duran was charged with one count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child.

October 03, 2008 - Domingo Lopez-Avaloy, a 24-year-old from Honduras, was arrested early yesterday, October 2nd, at his apartment in Charlotte, NC. Domingo Lopez-Avaloy was the only one of four suspects still wanted in connection with the 2004 kidnapping and sexual assault of a 12 year old female at the Heatherwood Apartments in Aurora.

October 03, 2008 - The suspect in the city’s 11th homicide of the year was captured by a dedicated team of task force officers led by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) based out of Roanoke Thursday afternoon. Deandre Miller, 20, of Roanoke was captured by a swarm of task force officers outside an apartment building in Jamestown Village on Queen Ann Drive in southeast Roanoke without incident. Miller is suspected of shooting Derrick Patrick Hobson, also 20, on September 25, 2008.

October 02, 2008 - For Dusty Gus Hernandez, the chase is finally over. U.S. Marshals arrested Hernandez, one of Texas’ Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, at a house in Arlington, Texas last night. The arrest brings to close an intense manhunt that began on March 12th of this year when Hernandez fled town to avoid trial in Midland County for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Indecency with a Child.

October 02, 2008 - A woman wanted in the stabbing death of a Roanoke man was apprehended in Pittsburgh by the U.S. Marshals Service. Marcella Gail Martin, 53, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Lonnie Marsh at the American Motel on Williamson Road Northwest. Roanoke City police responded to room 8 of the hotel on December 20, 2004 and discovered Marsh’s body. Marcella Martin immediately became a suspect in his death and an arrest warrant was issued, but she fled Roanoke before she could be located.

October 01, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Ryan Garcia, 34, in Phoenix after a six hour stand-off with Police. Garcia was wanted by the U.S. Marshals for violating the conditions of his Supervised Release, after serving time in Federal prison for drug-related offenses, and is wanted for questioning regarding the bank robberies committed by the so-called Bank Whisperer, suspected of robbing numerous banks across the valley over the past month.

October 01, 2008 - U.S. Marshals and the Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force announce the arrest of Frankie Milton, 35, and Cannon Sizemore, 29. Milton was arrested in Springdale, Arkansas for absconding state supervision. Milton was convicted of murder in 1996, and sentenced to more than 20 years in state prison. Sizemore, also a probation absconder, was arrested on October 1, 2008 in Madison County. Sizemore, convicted of manslaughter in 2002 and sentenced to 9 years, was arrested after a brief scuffle and transported without further incident.

October 01, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the SCMPD K-9 unit. Shahee Gordon, 21, was being sought on warrants issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Fleeing to Elude, and Criminal Damage to Property.

September 30, 2008 - Peter J. Elliot, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, announces that the U.S. Marshals in Charlottesville, VA, apprehended Rudolph Matland III (age 27) at a residence in Stuarts Draft, VA, based on an urgent request from the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. The Youngstown Police Department wanted Matland for an incident that occurred on September 30th, where he allegedly forced his way into his estranged wife’s residence and assaulted her.

September 29, 2008 - In October of 2007, the U.S. Marshals Service was asked for assistance in locating and apprehending fugitives Eileen and Perry Sharp. In August of 2006, the FBI obtained an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution warrant for the Sharps based on felony warrants in the non-custodial abduction of Shanae Peterson. On Monday, September 29, 2008, positive identification was made and Perry and Eileen Sharp were arrested without incident.

September 29, 2008 - Rodney Lee Compton, 24, a recent Pennsylvania parolee was arrested in the small hamlet of Castle Rock, Washington at the foot of Mount St. Helens. Compton was arrested without incident by U.S. Marshals, Castle Rock Police Department, and the Vancouver Police Department Career Criminal Apprehension Team. Compton, released from Pennsylvania Department of Corrections on August 10, 2008, engaged in a multi-state crime spree starting in Jasper County, Christian County Missouri, and Pittsburg, Kansas.

September 27, 2008 - James Joseph Bennett, a 50 year old white male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF). When officers went to arrest Bennett, he was tased while attacking U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers in his attempts to escape capture. Bennett was a fugitive out of Alaska wanted for Federal Probation Violation. His original charge was cocaine sales.

September 26, 2008 - On September 25, 2008, the Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Bryant Boudin in New Orleans, LA. Boudin was booked for the murder of Betsy McDaniel, owner of the popular Betsy’s Pancake House in Mid-City. He was charged with second degree murder and aggravated battery. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives allege that Boudin, 27, brutally beat McDaniel, 72, in her Marrero home on Memorial Day of this year.

September 23, 2008 - Fugitive of the Week Reginald Garrett was apprehended this afternoon at approximately 12:30 PM. Thanks to an anonymous tipster, information was received on the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Taskforce hotline regarding the whereabouts of Garrett. Garrett was wanted by the North Royalton Police on larceny charges and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for receiving stolen property, and by Cleveland Police for felonious assault.

September 20, 2008 - Larry Rich, a federal fugitive, was arrested in Seattle, WA by the Seattle Police Department. On September 19th, the night before Rich’s arrest, Eugene Police SWAT and the FBI office responded to an apartment in Eugene, Oregon. After a two and half hour stand-off an empty apartment was searched and Larry Rich was no where to be found. Rich is a convicted bank robber and was considered armed and dangerous.

September 19, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service WANTED Task Force in Phoenix, announce the arrest of a man wanted in Texas for sexual assault charges from 1999. Charles Eugene Holybee, 61yoa, is wanted in Longview, Texas on a December, 1999 warrant alleging sex offenses with his 14 year old daughter. When Holybee became aware of pending charges, he abandoned his semi truck and trailer in Shepherd, Texas and vanished. Holybee had been a fugitive for almost 9 years.

September 19, 2008 - Eddie Lee Cole, a fugitive wanted by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department on September 18, 2008. Cole was being sought on a warrant issued in Yuma, Arizona charging him with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

September 19, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, and the Kingsland Police Department on September 18, 2008. Richard Patrick Maher - aka Stephen Hegarty - was being sought on a warrant issued in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana charging him with Escape which occurred on September 6, 2008.

September 19, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department (SCMPD) on outstanding warrants was arrested by the Savannah U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, and SCMPD K-9 and Detectives on September 19, 2008. Dquan Ferguson was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault.

September 18, 2008 - Scores of fugitives – from the Panhandle to the Keys – are now behind bars courtesy of a U.S. Marshals-led sweep targeting the “worst-of-the-worst” offenders statewide. The U.S. Marshals Service, assisted by federal, state and local law enforcement across Florida, arrested 2,497 fugitives and cleared 2,943 warrants statewide as part of Operation Orange Crush. The results of this ten-week operation were announced here today by Deputy Attorney General Mark Filip, U.S. Marshals Service Director John F. Clark and U.S. Marshal Christina Pharo of the Southern District of Florida.

September 18, 2008 - Oswald Jones was arrested as he left the apartment of a known associate in Oklahoma City. Jones was wanted in Fannin County, Texas for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The arrested was the culmination of a multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional effort lead by the United States Marshal’s Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force.

September 18, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Jenkins County Sheriff’s Department and the Millen Police Department in Millen, Georgia on September 17, 2008. Cedric Cutter, 27, was being sought on a warrant issued in Jacksonville, Florida charging him with Two Counts of Murder.

September 16, 2008 - Charles E. James was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Harold D. Vietor to 12 months and a day in federal prison after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. James was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release after his imprisonment, and to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.

September 17, 2008 - Mario Morgan, a sex offender wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department on five outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department on September 17, 2008.

September 12, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force would like to announce the arrest of Dwayne Cox. Investigators located Cox at the apartment of a friend in Niles, Ohio. He was arrested with the assistance of the Niles Police Department and the Trumbull/Ashtabula Law Enforcement Group. Cox was wanted on a total of 17 warrants in 10 separate jurisdictions charging him with Passing Bad Checks.

September 11, 2008 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force would like to announce the capture of Alton S. Bazemore on September 9, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan. Bazemore had been sought by the task force since late summer 2007 for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in Lucas County, Ohio. On September 10, 2008 the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, once again with the assistance of the Detroit, Michigan United States Marshals office, apprehended Jose Hernandez. Hernandez was also wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender since July 2007.

September 11, 2008 - A major fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Counter Narcotics Team was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on September 11, 2008. Aubrey Rodriguez Williams, 32, was being sought on a warrants issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Conspiracy to Violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, Trafficking in Cocaine, and Possession of Marijuana.

September 10, 2008 - A perfect trifecta resulted in the arrest of U.S. Marshals “15 Most Wanted” fugitive David Lee Green yesterday at a medical facility in Titusville, FL. Diligence and hard work by the U.S. Marshals from the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Orlando and U.S. Marshals in the Northern District of Ohio combined with a tip from a citizen resulted in Green’s capture after being on the run since 2000. Green was wanted for his June 19, 2000, escape from the Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton, Ohio, where he was serving a 235-month sentence for cocaine distribution.

September 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) apprehended fugitive sex offender Brent Baker, 33, in Phoenix, AZ. In 1997 Baker was convicted in Maricopa County Superior Court for two counts of Molestation of a Minor and served almost eight years in the custody of the Arizona Department of Corrections. In April of this year Baker absconded from probation, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest. Baker, a level III sex offender, also failed to update his sex offender registration.

September 09, 2008 - A missing girl from Denham Springs was recovered by the U.S. Marshals Service this afternoon at a Tulsa, Oklahoma apartment complex. Jennifer O. Winter, 39, of Denham Springs was arrested by U.S. Marshals at the Windsail Apartments on a warrant issued by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for non-custodial kidnapping.

September 05, 2008 - Johnnie Elvin McKelvey was taken into custody without incident yesterday in Jacksonville, FL. McKelvey, 45, is alleged to have failed to appear to begin service of a federal prison sentence in January 2004. McKelvey was convicted on a federal charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm in late 2003 and ordered to serve 180 months. He had been on the run for over four years. McKelvey’s long time girlfriend, Paula Glenn, was also arrested yesterday in Monck’s Corner. Glenn, 43, was charged in federal court with Concealing a Person from Arrest.

September 04, 2008 - Harendra Kumar Patel was arrested on Wednesday September 3, 2008 by the U.S. Marshals. Deputy Marshals advise Patel has been a fugitive from the Crown Court of Leicester, England after allegedly being charged with Fraudulent Evasion of the Duty Payable on Goods over One Million Dollars. South Carolina Marshals arrested Patel at the Blue Bay Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.

September 02, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Alfred William Cash. Cash was wanted by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Muncie, Indiana for failure to register as a sex offender. Cash, now age 50, was convicted at the age of 32 for rape of a 12 year old girl in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and has a lifetime registration obligation.

August 29, 2008 - Deputy Marshals from South Dakota, Yankton County Sheriff’s Deputies and Yankton Police Department arrested an Arkansas man in Yankton after a manhunt that began in February 2008, shortly after subject faked his own drowning. Matthew Alan Sheppard, 42, of Searcy, AK, was arrested on a warrant out of Arkansas for felony Fraud and Embezzlement, after receiving a tip from the U. S. Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force that Sheppard may be hiding in the area.

August 29, 2008 - Fugitive Victor Sotelo, one of eight prisoners who escaped from the Curry County Adult Detention Center Sunday night, is back in custody. Sotelo was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force late last night at an apartment in the 1200 block of Ortiz Street in Southeast Albuquerque.

August 29, 2008 - In 1972, Tamiko Smith plead to a two-year maximum incarceration in Detroit’s 36th District Court for a Non-Sufficient Funds charge. She began serving her sentence in the Detroit House of Corrections located in Plymouth Mich. Less than four months into her sentence, Smith was placed on escape status with the Michigan Department of Corrections and remained an escapee for the next 36 years until she was captured this past week by U.S. Marshals.

August 28, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a man wanted in New York City for allegedly raping and sodomizing his 11 and 5 year old daughters in 2005. About an hour earlier, the Task Force apprehended Bryan Wadsworth at a convenient store in Pensacola. The 23 year old Jacksonville, FL man is a suspect in an armed robbery where he and another suspect, his uncle Timothy Crosby, allegedly robbed an 84 year old man while visiting the gravesite of his deceased wife.

August 27, 2008 - Lone Star Fugitive Task Force members were busy on Wednesday as they first arrested a man in Medina County that was a Comal County 10 Most Wanted and then later arrested a man in San Antonio that was wanted by U.S. Marshals in Laredo.

August 25, 2008 - Eight inmates, including a convicted murderer and another man charged with murder, escaped from the Curry County Jail in Clovis, New Mexico by cutting a hole in the roof. One of the men has been captured by Clovis Police, but the other seven remain at large. One of the missing inmates is Edward Salas, who was recently convicted in the murder of a 10-year-old boy.

August 25, 2008 - Capture of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - U.S. Marshals from the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force captured “15 Most Wanted” fugitive Elliott Evan Stamps in Chicago. Stamps, 38, became the focus of a nationwide manhunt in June by the U.S. Marshals, which added him to the agency’s “15 Most Wanted” fugitive list. Acquaintances describe Stamps as a “cracked-out maniac,” and he was wanted on kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault charges by Mississippi authorities.

August 25, 2008 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) received a request on August 11th from the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office to assist in locating and apprehending Jeffrey Michael Mitchell, also known as – “Draven”. Mitchell was wanted for sexually assaulting a four year old girl in Jacksonville, Florida in May 2008. Mitchell was found at this residence and taken into custody without incident.

August 22, 2008 - Barbara Glenn also known as Barbara Corley of Piedmont, SC was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Operation Intercept. Task Force Officers advise Corley has been a fugitive for thirty-five (35) years after allegedly escaping from the Detroit House of Corrections in Plymouth, Michigan. South Carolina Marshals arrested Corley at a residence on Reserve Drive in Piedmont, SC.

August 22, 2008 - Jerry Thomas Tomlin Jr., who was wanted by the Newport News, Virginia Police Department on 25 counts of felony forcible sodomy, 26 counts of felony indecent liberties and 1 count of attempted felony sodomy with a minor, was captured this morning at a residence in Lynchburg, Virginia.

August 22, 2008 - On August 21, 2008, the U.S. Marshals Service - Eastern District of Louisiana (E/LA) Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) arrested David Wedge in New Orleans, Louisiana. St. Charles Parish investigators allege that Wedge, 28, kidnapped, raped, and beat a woman earlier this month. Wedge had additional warrants for battery by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

August 21, 2008 - Addition of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - David Lee Green reputedly used a stun gun on his children and an iron fist with his narcotics distribution ring. Today, this violent drug kingpin and escaped federal prisoner scored a spot on the United States Marshals famed “15 Most Wanted" fugitives list. “Daddy Dave” Green is wanted for his June 19, 2000, escape from the Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton, Ohio, where he was serving a 235-month sentence for cocaine distribution.

August 21, 2008 - Addition of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - In July 2006, the bodies of two high school lacrosse players were found lying side-by-side, facedown, murdered execution style, miles from their suburban homes near Orlando. The brutal double slaying was among the state’s highest profile homicide case of 2006, and one of several gang-related shootings that had swept through central Florida. Today, 20-year-old Luc Pierre-Charles Jr., a suspect sought in connection with the student slayings, was added to the United States Marshals’ famed "15 Most Wanted" fugitives list.

August 20, 2008 - Shawn Scott Lockamy, a 25 year old white male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF). A Clackamas County warrant was issued for Lockamy on July 3, 2008, for a parole violation. Lockamy was originally convicted on March 1, 2001 for Sex Abuse II. In 2006, Lockamy was designated as a “Predatory Sex Offender” by Clackamas County Community Corrections.

August 20, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Devon Sharif Doyle, 19 was being sought on a warrants issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Murder and Aggravated Assault from an incident that happened on August 17, 2008.

August 19, 2008 - The Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force announce the arrest of Daniel L. Post, 34, who was wanted on Federal drug charges in the Western District of Missouri. The diligent efforts of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections lead to the arrest of Post, a known drug distributor in the Northwest Arkansas area. This arrest marks almost 400 fugitive arrests for the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, a Task Force funded by Federal grant monies.

August 18, 2008 - Deputy Marshals from South Dakota, Northern Iowa and Eastern Texas, along with Minnehaha County and Lincoln County sheriffs’ deputies from the Sioux Falls Area Violent Offenders Task Force, arrested a Texas man in Tea, SD after an intensive manhunt. Preston Dwayne Hightower, 38 of Sherman, TX was arrested on a U S Marshals warrant out of Eastern Texas for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and immediately turned over to the state warrant out of Sherman TX for absconding from a 60-year sentence on three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

August 18, 2008 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force started the week off on a positive note with the apprehension of last week’s Fugitive Of The Week, Eric Williams. Williams has been on the run and eluding the authorities for the past few weeks. Williams was wanted by the Lake County Sheriff’s office on 3 counts of rape, gross sexual imposition, and kidnapping.

August 15, 2008 - On August 14, 2008, The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force located Eliezer Caraballo in Orange County Jail in Orlando, FL after an anonymous tipster advised that he was in jail under an alias. Caraballo was the subject of a 4-state man hunt which began January 2008 when he fled Lorain, Ohio via Greyhound en route to the south. Caraballo was featured on America’s Most Wanted internet page where tips led investigators to Orlando, FL.

August 14, 2008 - On 07/25/08, Preston Dewayne Hightower fled the Grayson County Justice Center after being found guilty by a jury on three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. After nearly three weeks on the run, Preston Hightower was arrested in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at a roofing job site by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Sioux Falls Area Joint Fugitive Task Force.

August 13, 2008 - On August 12, 2008, the U.S. Marshals Service E/LA Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) arrested Marko Tavizon in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dallas County investigators allege that Tavizon, 34, sexually assaulted a seven year old female child in June of this year. Due to the age of the victim, Tavizon was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Juvenile.

August 12, 2008 - Cornelius Craig Robinson, 48, who failed to appear for sentencing for his involvement as the leader and organizer of an Austin area mortgage fraud scheme, was arrested this afternoon in rural Caldwell County a few miles west of Lockhart, TX. Robinson was arrested this afternoon without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

August 11, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) announces the arrests of 31 year old William Thomas Jacobsen and 57 year old Marilyn McQueen Wesson. Jacobsen was wanted for Aggravated Sexual Assault on a Child.

August 07, 2008 - Capture of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - U.S. Marshals coordinated the apprehension and capture of a “15 Most Wanted” fugitive in Mexico. Geovany Rivera, facing a murder charge in Texas, was detained by Mexican authorities when a joint, international law enforcement effort located him in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Mexican authorities deported Rivera and he was handed over to U.S. Marshals in Laredo, Texas. Now that he is back on American soil, Rivera will face the charges he was trying to outrun: murder, two counts of sexual assault and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

August 06, 2008 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) captured Albert Dewayne Nichols, August 5th, who has been on the run since December 2007. He is wanted by Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (Punta Gorda, FL) for charges of Lewd & Lascivious Molestation on a Person Less Than 16 Year of Age and 3 counts of Sexual Battery on a victim less than 12 years.

August 06, 2008 - Remarks by U.S. Marshals Director John F. Clark at the International Crime Stoppers Conference - Thank you. I appreciate all that Crime Stoppers is doing. We share a common goal of stopping criminal activity by finding and arresting those who are responsible for it. I read recently from a Bureau of Justice Statistics report that U.S. residents age 12 and older experienced an estimated 25 million violent and property crimes in 2006. Together, we have some work to do and things don’t seem to be getting better.

August 05, 2008 - U.S. Marshals returned a Mexican citizen back to Mexico where he was wanted for shooting and killing a Nogales, Sonora, Mexico Police commander and wounding a fellow officer in 2006. The U.S. Marshals WANTED Task Force Mexico Investigative Liaison in Tucson was contacted by the Sonora State Investigative Police (PEI) to determine if Jose Domingo Felix-Cervantes, 35 years of age, had fled to the U.S. after the June 2006 shootings in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

August 02, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) announces the arrest of Federal Escapee Jose Guerra. Guerra was arrested by Customs and Border Protection Officers at the Laredo Port of Entry as he attempted to come back in to Texas from Mexico. Border officials had been on alert for Guerra after it was learned he had fled to Mexico and U.S. Marshals had obtained a warrant for his arrest.

It is nice to be back, addressing a group of people who share a common cause: the accountability of sex offenders. I thought I would begin by sharing a few good news / bad news items from a recent Bureau of Justice Statistics bulletin.

July 30, 2008 - Peter J. Elliott, United States Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of fugitive Brandon Weaver. The details of the investigation and arrest are below. On July 28th, 2008 the Liberty County (Georgia) Sheriff’s Office filed warrants for Weaver charging him with two counts of Aggravated Sodomy (Rape) involving 14 year old and 17 year old victims.

July 30, 2008 - On July 29, 2008, the U.S. Marshals Service E/LA Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) arrested Edward Veal, in Gretna, Louisiana. Veal was listed as #1 on the (JPSO) Top 100 most wanted fugitives list, for charges of First Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder. On July 29, 2008, the U.S. Marshals Service Northern District of Texas (N/TX) promptly acted on information provided by the U.S. Marshals Service (CSFTF) and arrested Garcia-Viera, Rene, with assistance from the Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood, Texas. Garcia-Viera was listed as #7 on the (JPSO) Top 100 most wanted fugitives list, for a charge of Attempted Murder.

July 30, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department (SCMPD) has been captured by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, SCMPD Trap Unit and SCMPD K-9. SCMPD referred the case to the Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest. The Marshals Task force conducted an extensive investigation. Christopher King, 23, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Murder.

July 30, 2008 - Addition of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive - Accused of murdering a clerk at a Texas game store, Geovany Rivera has become one of the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitives. Rivera’s addition to the list reflects how horrific law enforcement officials consider the crime. Only the worst type of alleged criminals makes it on the list.

July 30, 2008 - The Arizona Warrant Apprehension Network and Targeted Enforcement Detail (Arizona WANTED) apprehended career criminal and documented gang member Ashone Hollinquest, 22, in Chandler, AZ. On July 02, 2008 Hollinquest and Marnicus Lockhard, 29, were identified by the Pasco Police Department in Pasco, Washington as “persons of interest” in the disappearance of Tiarra Jo Garcia, 19, which occurred on June 23, 2008. In addition to being “persons of interest” in the disappearance case, Hollinquest was also wanted by Washington authorities on a felony charge of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Lockhard was wanted for felony narcotic and weapons violations.

July 28, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Willie Davis n Cleveland, OH. Davis was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for multiple charges of Rape of a minor. Davis has as extensive criminal history which includes offenses for breaking and entering, aggravated burglary and domestic violence. A short while later, a call was received by members of the Task Force from Dwayne Gedson. Gedson, another recent Fugitive of the Week candidate was calling to arrange a meeting place to turn himself in.

July 17, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 22 -June 28. Led by the U.S. Marshal Service, Operation FALCON is a nationwide law enforcement effort.

July 16, 2008 - Washington, D.C. - The U.S. Marshals Service, assisted by federal, state and local law enforcement, arrested 19,380 fugitives and cleared 25,087 warrants as part of Operation FALCON 2008 (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally), Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey, and U.S. Marshals Service Director John F. Clark announced today. Ranging from coast to coast, Operation FALCON 2008 brought together the talents and resources of 30 federal agencies, 162 state agencies and 1,425 local sheriffs’ and police departments, to again make the program a huge success.

July 16, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 8 – 14. Led by the U.S. Marshal Service, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 183 arrests within the Omaha and Lincoln areas.

July 16, 2008 - Deputy United States Marshals from the Western District of North Carolina and the United States Marshals sponsored Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force combined their efforts to capture Cleveland County escapee Chavis Leon Hargro. Hargro, 28, was indicted on June 4, 2008 in the Western District of North Carolina for his alleged involvement in a cocaine conspiracy.

July 16, 2008 - The communities of the 40 counties located within the Northern District of Ohio are a much safer place this week as local, state and federal law enforcement joined forces for a week long fugitive apprehension effort spanning from June 23 through June 30. FALCON, the acronym for Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, soared into the greater Cleveland area during that week and resulted in over 395 fugitives physically arrested and the clearing of a record best 423 outstanding warrants. As a district, Northern Ohio ranked third out of ninety-four districts nationally.

July 15, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio (S/OH), announced the capture of fugitive Josh Dale Pointer (age 19) by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST). Pointer escaped from the Hart County Jail in Hartwell, Georgia on July 13, 2008 while facing prosecution for numerous burglaries. Pointer was temporarily being held at the Hart County Jail while serving a 20 year sentence at the Washington State Prison in Davisboro, Georgia for multiple burglary and motor vehicle theft charges from three different counties in Georgia.

July 15, 2008 - 15 Most Wanted Capture - A suspect wanted in one of the most merciless, senseless murders in this city’s history has been captured in his native Mexico. U.S. Marshals today announced the arrest of “Top 15 Most Wanted Fugitive” Miguel Mateos-Martinez near Ensenada, Mexico last Sunday evening.

July 15, 2008 - On July 14, 2008, fugitive Lloyd Munson was apprehended by the Harris County Sheriffs Office, the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force (GCVOTF) and the Houston Police Department, at an apartment complex in Houston, Texas. Munson fled the New Orleans Metro area after his alleged involvement in the aggravated kidnapping and murder of Terrence Pinkley. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s investigators allege that on March 01, 2008, Munson kidnapped Terrence Pinkley and attempted to negotiate with an associate of Pinkley, for the exchange of drugs and money to secure his freedom. When Pinkley’s associate contacted the authorities and informed them of the plot, Munson allegedly shot and killed Pinkley.

July 15, 2008 - U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Task Force (RFTF) members arrested Jose Ramirez in Hollywood, Florida. On March 4, 2004, a warrant was issued for Jose Luis Ramirez by Shelby County after Ramirez was charged with First Degree Murder in the shooting death of Hector Leon. The Mid-South Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) began in August 2005 and adopted this case shortly thereafter.

July 14, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Aaron Sherrod in the Atlanta suburb of Rex, GA, where he was hiding from Ohio law enforcement. Sherrod was wanted by the Youngstown Police Department for his involvement in the November 18, 2007, shooting death of James Dow on Youngstown’s north side.

July 14, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Terry Davy on Mt. Auburn Avenue in Cleveland, OH. Davy was wanted for escape from the Harbor Light half-way house by the State of Ohio and also for violation of his federal supervised release. Davy was serving time for convictions of felonious assault, weapons charges and drug charges.

July 14, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a Niceville man wanted for 1st Degree Murder who is suspected of stabbing and killing his wife several days ago in a town outside of Tulsa, OK. According to reports from the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office on July 12, 2008, Mark Paul Bixler allegedly stabbed his wife Michelle Bixler two times; once in the chest and once in the head before fleeing. Bixler was taken into custody by the Task Force after they found him trying to hide in a bedroom.

July 11, 2008 - U.S. Marshals Service announces the arrest of Wilfred Vangure, 2nd Degree Murder Suspect, in Houston, TX. Wilfred Vangure allegedly shot and killed 19 year old Paxton Simon in Lafayette, LA. The Lafayette Police Department quickly identified the shooter and began the search for 22 year old Wilfred Vangure. The Lafayette Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in locating and arresting Vangure.

July 10, 2008 - Peter J. Elliott, United States Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, and Police Chief Michael T. Matulavich, Akron Police Department, announce the arrest of America’s Most Wanted (AMW) Fugitive Thomas Lollis. Lollis was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force (GCVOFTF), with assistance from the Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in Houston, TX. Lollis is charged with the shooting death of a 29 year old black male that occurred in Akron, OH on the 5th of July, 2007.

July 10, 2008 - Santos F. Garcia, 22 of Fort Worth was arrested this morning by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Leander, TX without incident after Garcia was identified as the alleged shooter in a homicide occurring last week in Fort Worth resulting in the death of a 17-year old male.

July 10, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Statesboro Police Department on July 9, 2008 in Statesboro, GA. Akeem Saad Johnson, 24, was being sought on a warrants issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Robbery by Force in an incident that occurred on December 21, 2007.

July 08, 2008 - On Monday, July 7, 2008, Strike Team Officers from the Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST), arrested Demond Stuard in Dallas, Texas. Three hours later, officers arrested Anton Wallace at the same address. Demond Stuard and Anton Wallace are suspects in an attempted robbery, car-jacking, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that occurred May 16, 2008, when Stuard and Wallace approached a female in her vehicle in the parking lot of the North Park Mall shopping center in Dallas.

July 08, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 22-June28. Over the course of the seven-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 700 fugitives, 12 for homicide in Eastern New York.

July 07, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 15-21. Over the course of the seven-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with other federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 118 fugitives, including one homicide suspect, eight sex offenders, and cleared 253 warrants in M/NC.

July 07, 2008 - The 23 counties that make up the Middle District of Alabama are much safer this week as local state and federal law enforcement joined forces for a week-long fugitive apprehension effort June 16 and by the time the week was over, 198 fugitives had been arrested and 237 warrants cleared.

July 07, 2008 - Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies collaborated on “Operation FALCON,” a one-week fugitive round-up June 22 – 27. Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON netted 312 fugitives wanted on 346 warrants throughout Arizona. In addition to arresting these fugitives, 10 firearms were taken off the streets.

July 07, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service, assisted by nearly 100 law enforcement agencies at the federal, state and local level, arrested 112 fugitives and cleared 116 warrants in Minnesota as part of a nationwide operation known as FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally). The campaign resulted in 29 arrests of assault suspects; 14 burglary/larceny suspects; 19 narcotics suspects; and seven robbery suspects.

July 03, 2008 - Danny Lee Warren, Jr., 31 of North Henderson, Illinois was arrested by the Bettendorf Police Department, Mercer County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task yesterday morning in Bettendorf, Iowa without incident. Warren is the second Williamson County fugitive charged with sex offenses against a minor arrested in the past 90 days outside of Texas based upon outstanding charges stemming from the mid 1990’s.

July 03, 2008 - Keith Lee Burns, a violent sexual offender from Montgomery County, Virginia was arrested Wednesday evening by members of the U.S. Marshals, Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (FAST) in San Francisco. Burns was wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender by the Virginia State Police.

July 02, 2008 - The Rio Grande Valley is much safer this week as Operation FALCON 2008 (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) soared over its counties from June 23 – June 29. Operation FALCON is the largest U.S. Marshals Service-led fugitive apprehension initiative. It combines the efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies all working for a common goal, making our community safer. The emphasis of Operation FALCON is violent fugitives, gang related crimes, crimes against children and sex offenses.

July 02, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 22 – 28. Led by the U.S. Marshal, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 380 arrests, including 26 sex offenders, and cleared 688 warrants within the Eastern District of Tennessee.

July 02, 2008 - Washington, D.C. - Fugitive Samuel Israel III, 49, turned himself in to local authorities in Southwick, Mass. “The U.S. Marshals are extremely pleased with this surrender,” said U.S. Marshals Service Director John F. Clark. “When he turned himself in, it was due to the massive pressure placed on Israel by diligent investigators in the Marshals Service and by our partners nationwide.” U.S. Marshal Joseph Guccione, Southern District of New York, additionally praised the efforts of federal, state and local authorities and members of the public who helped with the fugitive pursuit. Federal investigators first learned of Israel’s intent to surrender when a member of his family notified a Marshals Service contact earlier this morning.

July 02, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 22– 28. Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON-Chicago netted 319 physical arrests while closing an additional 59 warrants within the Chicagoland area.

July 02, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) in Clark, Pierce and King Counties from June 23 - 28. Led by the U.S. Marshals sponsored Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (PNWFAT), Operation FALCON 2008 resulted in 134 arrests and cleared 159 warrants.

July 01, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service for the Northern District of Texas conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 24-30. Operation FALCON – North Texas main focus was capturing individuals wanted on felony charges including sexual predators and fugitives wanted for crimes of violence. Utilizing the Marshals Service District Task Force, the Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST), as the platform to coordinate Operation FALCON, the mission was the most successful FALCON thus far in the North Texas area. Over the course of the seven-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 444 fugitives clearing 573 felony warrants.

July 01, 2008 - Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) and the Atlanta Police Department arrested Eric Menefee in Atlanta. Acting on investigative information developed during the search for Menefee, U.S. Marshals SERFTF investigators managed to locate him residing in a shed he had turned into an apartment on the back of an associate’s property. Menefee, 37, is wanted by the Atlanta Police Department for two counts of child molestation and two counts of terroristic threats. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office also had a warrant for Menefee for failure to register as a sex offender.

July 01, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service, with assistance of its law enforcement partners conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 22-28. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 140 arrests in the Northern District of West Virginia.

July 01, 2008 - Four southern Alabama counties were the focus of this year’s Operation FALCON. FALCON, the acronym for Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, was conducted in the Southern District of Alabama by 89 law enforcement officers from 26 local, state, and federal agencies. Targeted fugitives were wanted for crimes of violence, sex offenders, gang members and narcotics violations. The effort cleared 120 felony warrants.

July 01, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 16 – 27. Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 333 arrests within the Southern District of Indiana.

June 30, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 23 – 27. Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 211arrests and cleared 306 warrants within the Northern District of Indiana.

June 30, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals, in coordination with 25 other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies conducted a six day enforcement operation from June 23 to June 28. Operation FALCON, standing for Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally, targeted violent felons, gang members, and sex offenders. FALCON 2008 captured 69 fugitives and cleared 83 warrants in Alaska for crimes including failures to register as a sex offender, distribution of child pornography, drug offenses, assault, burglary, robbery and theft.

June 30, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF) coordinated the efforts of local, state and federal law enforcement for a four-day fugitive apprehension effort last week, June 24 – 27. FALCON, the acronym for Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, soared into the Tri County Metro area and reached all the way to Umatilla County. FALCON 2008 was the shortest week as compared to previous FALCON missions but it packed a punch with 93 total arrests and 122 warrants cleared (some offenders had multiple warrants).

June 30, 2008 - In the largest fugitive apprehension initiative undertaken by the U.S. Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force across the Western District of Texas, teams of law enforcement agencies throughout the region, arrested approximately 1,000 fugitives during the five-day district-wide sweep. Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) targeted gang members, sex offenders, including parole and probation violators and other violent felons.

June 30, 3008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 23-June 29. Operation FALCON 2008 – El Paso combined the collective efforts and talents of multiple law enforcement agencies focusing on capturing individuals wanted on felony charges including gang members, sex offenders and fugitives wanted for crimes of violence. Over the course of the six-day operation, the combined resources of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers, arrested 223 fugitives – including 12 gang members - and cleared a total of 320 warrants.

June 30, 2008 - Midland, TX - Operation FALCON 2008 – Permian Basin, combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies focusing on capturing individuals wanted on Federal and State felony charges including narcotics violations, state parole and probation violations, and other crimes of violence. Over the course of the six-day operation, the combined resources of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers arrested 105 fugitives, and cleared 121 warrants in the Permian Basin.

June 27, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 1-7, Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 103 arrests within the Eastern District of Louisiana (E/LA).

June 27, 2008 - Combining the crime fighting efforts of local law enforcement with the national resources of U.S. marshals, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 151 arrests in a weeklong joint fugitive effort in the Western District or North Carolina. Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) is an annual fugitive apprehension initiative sponsored by the U.S. Marshals Service which creates special task forces of local, state and federal investigators in an effort to apprehend subjects wanted on outstanding charges of certain categories of crimes. Special emphasis is placed on sex offenders, violent crimes, drug violations, and gang affiliation.

June 27, 2008 - Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force captured 34 year old Richard Rohn during a felony vehicle stop in Florida. Rohn, a resident of Gadsden County, was currently being sought by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for the offense of Armed Robbery with a Firearm. Rohn had been the target of a fugitive investigation by the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force after the case was referred to the task force by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on June 17, 2008.

June 27, 2008 - U.S. Marshal Peter A. Lawrence, in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney Terrance Flynn, announces the results of a week-long fugitive warrant initiative that combined federal, state, and local law enforcement officers to hunt down and capture dangerous fugitives in the Western part of the District. This operation is a combination of a federal task force called Operation FALCON 2008 (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally), and a New York State Task Force called Rolling Thunder III. The operation began Monday and concludes today.

June 27, 2008 - Delaware was not the place to be last week if you were a fugitive. Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) June 16-22. Led by the U.S. Marshal, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 41 arrests within the District of Delaware.

June 26, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another week-long fugitive sweep known as Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally). Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON is a large-scale law enforcement effort focused on locating and arresting fugitives. From June 15- 21, Deputy U.S. Marshals teamed up with their counterparts from other state, local and federal law enforcement agencies and conducted Operation FALCON in various counties that make up the federal Southern District of Mississippi. Over the course of the seven-day operation, Operation FALCON teams located or arrested approximately 90 fugitives and cleared over 100 felony warrants.

June 26, 2008 - Following a four year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 16 – 22. Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 434 arrests within the Western District of Arkansas. Over the course of the seven-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 434 fugitives, including 26 sex offenders, and cleared over 800 warrants in the Western District of Arkansas.

June 25, 2008 - Building on the successes of the last four years in its national fugitive efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 15 – 20. Sponsored by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 400 arrests within the Eastern District of North Carolina.

June 25, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 15 – June 21. Led by U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON is a nationwide law enforcement effort. Operation FALCON 2008 – Lafayette combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in the Acadiana region’s largest ever fugitive initiative, focusing on capturing individuals wanted on felony charges including gang members, sex offenders and fugitives wanted for crimes of violence.

June 24, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 16-20. FALCON 2008 targeted fugitives throughout the state wanted for violent crimes, sex offenses, narcotics violations and other felonies. This was the largest of the four Operation FALCONs to take place in Utah. Over the course of this five-day initiative, 161 individuals were arrested and 201 warrants were cleared.

June 24, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service Mexico Investigative Liaison program efforts resulted in the arrest of a fugitive wanted on sex offense charges in Arizona. In a joint investigation, the fugitive was detained by Mexican law enforcement officials in Sonora, Mexico on June 21, 2008. Humberto Guadalupe Hernandez, a U.S. citizen, was wanted for Probation Violations by the Superior Court in Pima County.

June 24, 2008 - At dawn on the first day, fugitives in Middle Tennessee heard that unsettling knock at their doors. Some hid, some ran, and some just gave up. The results were the same. From June 15th to June 21st, Operation FALCON 2008 (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) teams spread out across 32 Middle Tennessee counties to target and arrest violent felons and sex offenders. As in the previous three FALCON operations, U.S. Marshals reached out to their federal, state, and local partners to form a powerful enforcement coalition to combat fugitive offenders on every jurisdictional level. At the end of day seven, 802 fugitives had been apprehended and 1,382 warrants were cleared.

June 24, 2008 - Operation FALCON 2008 has netted 260 arrests and 450 warrants cleared in the Northern District of Alabama. FALCON, Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, began on June 15, 2008, with state and local officers being sworn in as special Deputy U.S. Marshals. That authority empowered officers to cross traditional lines of jurisdiction in the District to track down and arrest targeted fugitives throughout the week that ended June 21st.

June 24, 2008 - It was six days fugitives in the Baton Rouge area did not expect and will not soon forget. The United States Marshals Service and law enforcement agencies from the nine Parishes that make up the Middle District of Louisiana conducted Operation Falcon 2008 (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 16 through June 21. Weeks of planning and preparation have produced staggering results. Four teams of officers and agents arrested 106 fugitives and cleared 232 outstanding felony warrants.

June 24, 2008 - The 43 counties in the Southern District of Georgia are much safer this week as local, state and federal law enforcement joined forces for a week-long fugitive apprehension effort last week. FALCON, the acronym for Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, soared into the district June 9 and by the time the week was over 292 fugitives had been apprehended and 411 warrants cleared.

June 24, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 9– 14. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 292 arrests within the Southern District of Georgia.

June 24, 2008 - Following a tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 15 – 21. Led by the U.S. Marshal Service, Operation FALCON is a nationwide law enforcement effort. Over the course of the seven-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 107 fugitives – including a Pittsburgh man charged with homicide, nine sex offenders and three documented gang members – and cleared 132 warrants. Over $70,000, two firearms, 153 stamp bags of heroin and approximately 100 grams of crack cocaine were also seized.

June 24, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 14-20. Led by the United States Marshals Service, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 227 arrests within the Eastern District of Pennsylvania

June 23, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals joined forces with numerous law enforcement agencies within the state and surrounding area last week in carrying out a fugitive apprehension initiative. The sweep resulted in the apprehension of 112 fugitives and cleared 133 outstanding warrants. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON, the acronym for Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, targeted violent offenders, gang members and sexual offenders. Of the 112 fugitives arrested, 6 were wanted for sexual offenses.

June 23, 2008 - On June 16, the arrest of David Montosa on Treasure Island ended the U.S. Marshals Service Northern California fugitive operation known as Operation FALCON. Montosa was wanted by Salinas Police on a sexual battery incident in 2005. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) is a multi-agency fugitive apprehension effort targeting persons wanted for sexual offenses, violent crimes, and narcotics violations. Over 50 arrests were made during the week-long operation, which began June 8. This is the fourth consecutive year that the U.S. Marshals Service has conducted the FALCON fugitive operation.

June 23, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 16 – June 21. Operational FALCON – Madison combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in one of the state’s largest fugitive initiatives. Over the course of the week long operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 36 fugitives and cleared 67 warrants.

June 22, 2008 - The state of Colorado is a safer place after local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies joined forces to arrest area fugitives this week. The U.S. Marshals Service organized the operation and targeted sexual predators, violent offenders, gang members, and narcotics violations. The initiative resulted in the arrest of 115 fugitives and cleared 121 warrants. The operation is part of an ongoing effort conducted nationally by the U.S. Marshals.

June 20, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service Northern District of Ohio, Cleveland Office, held an outstanding, history making online jewelry auction this week selling 22 forfeited items that far exceeded their expectations and generated sales proceeds of over $2,600,000.00. The two day online auction was held by Bid4Assets, under a national contract with the United States Marshals Service, Asset Forfeiture Division. The auction included some exquisite pieces from jewelry designers Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co., Mikimoto, Patek Philippe, Graff and others.

June 20, 2008 - As did the previous two FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) operations hosted by the U.S. Marshals in Detroit, FALCON Detroit 2008 had its moments, including a roof hopper, a drive by homicide, and a hostage situation. However, in these, and others, no officers where hurt and the bad guys were all caught. U.S. Marshal Robert M. Grubbs, the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Michigan, is proud to announce that Operation FALCON which ran in Detroit from June 17-19 in the Detroit Metropolitan area was another great success. The U.S. Marshal-led operation netted 259 violent fugitives.

June 20, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON- Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally – in the District of Connecticut June 16 – 20. Led by the U.S. Marshal, Operation FALCON netted approximately 200 arrests within the District of Connecticut.

June 20, 2008 - On Thursday, June 19, 2008, 38 year old Charles Ferguson was arrested in the Houston, Texas airport after he was expelled from the Republic of Mexico. Ferguson is charged in a March 2006 indictment in Jackson County, MS for two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. In August 2007, Ferguson failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

June 19, 2008 - 15 Most Wanted Addition - Things just got tougher for a man his friends describe as a “cracked-out maniac,” and who was pursued on kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault charges by Mississippi authorities. Today, Elliott Evan Stamps became the focus of a nationwide manhunt by the United States Marshals Service, which added him to the agency’s famed “15 Most Wanted Fugitive” list.

June 19, 2008 - In one of the largest fugitive initiatives ever undertaken in the Muskogee area, the U.S. Marshals, teamed with law enforcement agencies throughout eastern Oklahoma, arrested 290 fugitives and cleared 493 warrants during a recent week-long 10 county sweep. By utilizing the expertise and the capabilities of 33 participating law enforcement agencies, the operation ended with huge results. Of the 290 fugitives arrested, 14 were wanted for weapons violations, 108 narcotics arrests, and four non-compliant sexual offenders

June 19, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 8 – 14. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON 2008 targeted fugitives throughout the 33 counties that comprise the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Over the course of this seven-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals teamed up with their law enforcement partners to achieve tremendous results – 181 fugitives were arrested, and 228 warrants were cleared.

June 18, 2008 - 15 Most Wanted Capture - A Jamaican national, accused in the brutal double murder of a young South Florida couple, was arrested early this morning by Jamaican authorities. David Clarke, 26, was recently added to the U.S. Marshals “15 Most Wanted Fugitive’ list for his alleged participation in the June 2007 murders in Lauderhill, FL.

June 18, 2008 - Roanoke, VA - A suspicious package addressed to the Clerk of Court in Roanoke prompted U.S. Marshals to call in the Virginia State Police and Roanoke City Police bomb units this morning. Out of an “abundance of caution” a bomb sniffing dog from the Roanoke Police Department was called in to inspect the package, which proved to be negative for explosives. Based on the investigation, the package was opened without incident and deemed to be safe.

June 17, 2008 - Operation FALCON 2008 in the Hampton Roads area combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in one of the area’s largest-ever fugitive initiatives. Over the course of the five-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 187 fugitives.

June 17, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force captured three wanted fugitives today, two of them in Pensacola, FL. The Marshals and members of the Task Force from Escambia and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Offices and Escambia Patrol deputies arrested Arthur Ishkhanian. In 2006, Ishkhanian aka “Lucky” was charged with conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamines in Philadelphia. Minutes later the Task Force officers went to a house in Pensacola in search of 36 year old Charles Steagall, a wanted sex offender. Also arrested by U.S. Marshals in Rochester, NY was Okaloosa County fugitive Eddie Lee Jackson. Jackson is wanted on a 1996 warrant for violating his probation on trafficking cocaine charges. Jackson remains in jail in New York pending extradition back to Florida.

June 17, 2008 - Operation FALCON 2008 in the Richmond region combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in another highly successful fugitive initiative. Over the course of the five-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners and arrested 53 fugitives.

June 16, 2008 - A day of terror for one South Carolina family came to a happy ending Monday night when a U.S. Marshals Task Force, assisted by the Virginia State Police, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office and the Pearisburg Police Department apprehended Robert William Custer, 45, Pearisburg, VA. Custer was arrested without incident, even though he was considered to be armed and extremely dangerous after abducting his estranged wife and their 4 year old son in Lexington, South Carolina earlier today.

June 16, 2008 - In the largest fugitive initiative ever undertaken by the United States Marshals Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force across the state of Georgia, the U.S. Marshals Service, teamed with law enforcement agencies throughout the region, arrested more than 1,250 fugitives and cleared more than 1,450 warrants during the six day state-wide sweep. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) targets persons wanted for sexual offenses, other violent crimes and narcotics violations. Operation FALCON took place in Georgia from June 9-14; this is the fourth consecutive year that the U.S. Marshals Service has conducted the FALCON fugitive sweep operation throughout the country.

June 12, 2008 - In one of the largest fugitive initiatives ever undertaken in the Eastern District of Kentucky (E/KY) area, the U.S. Marshals Service, teamed with law enforcement agencies throughout the eastern Kentucky area, arrested 141 fugitives and cleared 157 warrants during a recent six-day sweep. Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) targets persons wanted for sexual offenses, other violent crimes and narcotics violations. Operation FALCON-EKY took place June 2-7.

June 11, 2008 - United States Marshal Robert M. Grubbs of the Eastern District of Michigan is proud to announce that Detroit’s Fugitive Safe Surrender (FSS) was a record breaking success. The four day operation, which ran from June 4-7, resulted in more than 7,000 individuals turning themselves in to law enforcement which was more than the previous eight FSSs combined.

June 11, 2008 - In one of the largest fugitive initiatives ever undertaken in the Southern District of Iowa, the U.S. Marshals Service, teamed with other law enforcement agencies throughout the Des Moines metropolitan and Quad-Cities areas, arrested 141 fugitives and cleared 200 outstanding arrest warrants during a recent six-day multi-jurisdiction operation.

June 11, 2008 - The 52 counties in the Western District of Virginia are much safer this week as local, state and federal law enforcement joined forces for a week-long fugitive apprehension effort last week. FALCON, the acronym for Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally, soared into the district June 1 and by the time the week was over 626 fugitives had been apprehended and 930 warrants cleared.

June 11, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service, teamed with law enforcement agencies throughout south eastern Wisconsin, arrested 45 fugitives and cleared 71 warrants during a recent six-day operation. Led by the U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) targets persons wanted for sexual offenses, violent crimes and narcotics violations. Operation FALCON - Milwaukee took place June 1-7 and is the fourth consecutive year the U.S. Marshals Service has conducted FALCON fugitive sweeps throughout the country.

June 10, 2008 - Following four years of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service teamed with federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies throughout New Hampshire June 1 –7, to arrest dozens of fugitives in another successful Operation FALCON – Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally. Operation FALCON targets persons wanted on felony charges including sexual predators, unregistered sex offenders, violent crimes, narcotics violations, and other felonies. Among those arrested was Gerard Latulippe, wanted on an international provisional arrest warrant as a fugitive from Costa Rica.

June 10, 2008 - Tulsa combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in one of the area’s largest-ever fugitive initiatives, Operation FALCON, focusing on capturing individuals wanted on felony charges including sexual predators, gang members, fugitives wanted for various crimes and crimes of violence. Over the course of the five-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, arrested 350 fugitives including 35 sexual offenders, 111 narcotic arrests, and 24 weapon violation arrests.

June 10, 2008 - Operation FALCON 2008 - San Diego combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in one of the area’s largest-ever fugitive initiatives. Over the course of the five-day operation, Deputy U.S. Marshals, teamed with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners and arrested 160 felony fugitives – including 22 for robbery offenses – and cleared 276 felony warrants. Nine firearms were also seized and taken off the streets.

June 10, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 1 – 9. Led by the U.S. Marshal, Operation FALCON 2008 netted 525 arrests within the Western District of Virginia.

June 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service concluded a successful, week-long Operation FALCON – Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally – in the 25th Judicial Circuit of Western Tennessee June 7th, 2008. Operation FALCON is a fugitive apprehension operation combining the resources of federal, state, city and county law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend criminals wanted for crimes of violence.

June 06, 2008 - U.S. Marshal Michael D. Credo proudly announced his agency’s “1000th” arrest, under a specially created Attorney General’s enforcement initiative. The initiative began in August 2006, in an attempt to reduce violent crime in the “Post-Katrina” New Orleans Metropolitan area. Critical components of the plan include additional funding and Deputy U.S. Marshals positions assigned to the local office. The program’s sole purpose is to assist local law enforcement by targeting, locating, and apprehending persons wanted for violent crimes.

June 04, 2008 - United States Marshals Service (USMS) sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) partner agency, the Bexar County Sheriffs Office, arrested Rodulfo today at a residence in San Antonio, TX. Herlinda Rodulfo is suspected of causing the death of a young female victim in the Baltimore, Maryland area.

June 02, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a man wanted on a warrant charging him with five counts of Sexual Battery on a Victim Under the Age of 15 and one count of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior/Molestation on a Victim 12 Years of Age. The fugitive, 65 year old Chester Lamar Palmer was arrested this morning at 10:15 in Evergreen, AL by the Marshals and Task Force Investigators from Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Escambia County Sheriff’s Offices.

June 02, 2008 - Eric Jackson was arrested on May 29th, 2008 by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) in Hillside, Illinois. This arrest was the direct result of a cooperative fugitive investigation between the GLRFTF, U.S. Marshals District of Minnesota, and the U.S. Marshals Eastern District of Wisconsin. Jackson arrived at the Federal Prison Camp in Duluth on October 2nd, 2007. Jackson was serving a sentence for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and a Probation Violation. On November 7th, 2007, Jackson escaped from the camp and has been on the run since.

May 29, 2008 - Former NBA Basketball Player Vernon Leon Maxwell, was arrested on May 29, 2008 by members of the U.S. Marshals sponsored Hornet’s Nest Task Force.

May 29, 2008 - On May 28, 2008, members of the U.S. Marshals sponsored Hornet’s Nest Task Force captured escapee Richard Allen Sloan in Kings Mountain, North Carolina after being on the run for approximately one year. Sloan had been previously featured on “America’s Most Wanted” after being convicted in March 2002 for sexually abusing a 7 year old girl.

May 28, 2008 -On Wednesday, May 28th, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) will be recognized by the State of Ohio’s House of Representatives and Representative Tom Patton, for its outstanding success in fugitive apprehension. Since its creation in June of 2003 by U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott, the NOVFTF has worked collaboratively with law enforcement agencies throughout the district to arrest violent fugitives at a record pace. In March of this year, the NOVFTF reached a milestone with the arrest of its 15,000th fugitive.

May 22, 2008 - Phoenix, AZ - Yesterday afternoon Deputy U.S. Marshals and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers captured Heraclio Guevara-Juarez, 31, in the area of Palo Verde Rd and Broadway Rd in Buckeye. Guevara-Juarez, a Mexican national, was wanted in Zacatecas, Mexico for three counts of Armed Robbery, two counts of Homicide and Escape.

May 21, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Robert McGee. McGee was wanted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for Felonious Assault (causing serious harm), Felonious Assault (with a deadly weapon) and Aggravated Robbery (with a deadly weapon). It is alleged that on April 24, 2008, McGee was involved in a drug deal in in Dayton, OH that quickly went wrong. McGee attempted to rob the victim during the drug deal and allegedly shot the victim in the chest. The victim was left paralyzed as a result of the shooting.

May 21, 2008 - Task Force Fugitive Operation - On May 19-21, 2008, the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force (MLFTF) participated in Operation Hide and Seek. The operation, conducted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, included law enforcement officers from seven different agencies and targeted persons wanted on outstanding warrants. The three day operation resulted in the arrest of 100 fugitives and cleared 293 warrants. Operation Hide and Seek was the first in a series of fugitive initiatives to be held in the Baton Rouge area during the summer of 2008 directed to suppress the number of outstanding warrants for crimes of violence, narcotics violations, and sexual offenses.

May 20, 2008 - On May 17, 2008, Brian Woodring was arrested at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, IL following his deportation from China. Woodring is a convicted child molester wanted out of Indiana for a parole violation. Woodring has two class A felony warrants for child molesting out of Morgan and Johnson County. Additionally, Woodring has warrants for one class C felony for child molesting, one class D felony for failure to register as a sex offender and possession of child pornography in Johnson County.

May 20, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department and the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police K-9 Unit, and Savannah Impact officers on May 20, 2008 in Savannah, GA. Larry Jiles, 21, was being sought on a warrants issued in Jasper County, South Carolina charging him with three Armed Robberies and two charges of Possession of a weapon by a Felon that occurred on November 19, 2007.

May 16, 2008 - On May 15, 2008, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office acted on information provided by the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District of Louisiana Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) and arrested Jeremiah Benoit, 30, for escape from the Calcasieu Parish Prison. Benoit was also wanted by Lake Charles Police Department for an Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Assault that occurred after his escape.

May 16, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District of Louisiana (USMS EDLA) partnered with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Charter School for Science and Technology (MLK) in 2007. In 2007, the Eastern District of Louisiana Marshals Office successfully graduated approximately 70 students from MLK. This year MLK Charter will graduate approximately 140 elementary and middle school students in the G.R.E.A.T. Program on Tuesday May 20, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. MLK is located at 1617 Caffin Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117.

May 16, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Shawn Brookins. Police allege that 23 year old Brookins shot a man to death in Wheeling, WV. Brookins is now in custody after being on the run for almost two months.

May 16, 2008 - U.S. Marshals in Pontiac, MI arrested Darron Dewayne Holsey last night. Holsey, 41 years old was wanted on capital murder charges by the Montgomery Police Department. Holsey was arrested as he returned to a residence in Pontiac, MI last night. Holsey is a suspect in the April 24, 2008 murder of Michael McCall, 33 years old who was found dead in a residence on Hickman Street.

May 15, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Alaska Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with the Alaska State Troopers, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted an enforcement operation yesterday. The U.S. Marshals tracked Kenneth Wayne Lollie, a fugitive on-the-run from Florida, to a remote location north of Fairbanks, Alaska.

May 14, 2008 - On May 7, 2008 an arrest warrant was issued for Hakim Crymes by the East Cleveland Police Department charging him with the murder of Larry Powell. On May 10, 2008 Deputy Marshals assigned to the NOVFT taskforce reached out to the U.S. Marshals in Las Vegas, and notified them of the specifics surrounding the case and information relating to the description of the two individuals as well as the vehicle they were believed to be driving. Last Night, the NOVFT taskforce was notified that the vehicle Crymes and his girlfriend were believed to be traveling in was located at a motel in the Las Vegas area. Approximately 1 hour later another call was received stating that Crymes was in custody and apprehended without incident.

May 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service is please to announce that Washington State fugitive, and Level III Sex Offender, David J. Torrence, self-surrendered earlier today in Camden, Arkansas. On April 23, 2008, convicted rapist and Level III Sex Offender David J. Torrence absconded from Washington State Department of Corrections supervision and became a fugitive. Torrence, a man with a history of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender, decided that 3 days of supervision was enough and fled after being released from prison on April 20, 2008.

May 08, 2008 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), along with the Columbus Division of Police, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, arrested Jermaine Riley. Riley has been wanted since November 2007 for Possession with Intent to Distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine and for using a firearm in the commission of the offense. Riley was recently named as a suspect in the murder case of 9 year old Kiyana-Shae Meilke.

May 07, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Francisco Hernandez-Almendares, 26, on a warrant issued in December of 2006 in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana charging him with aggravated rape of a child under 13 years old. Acting on a lead sent by the Eastern District of Louisiana U.S. Marshals Service Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF), Hernandez-Almendares was arrested in Baldwin County, Alabama after a traffic stop initiated by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and local law enforcement.

May 07, 2008 - Atlanta, GA - On May 6, 2008, investigators with the U.S. Marshal Service's Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) apprehended Darick Randolph Jordan at a relative's house in College Park, Georgia. Jordan was wanted by the Douglas County, GA Sheriff's Office for four counts of burglary. Injured after crashing his fleeing vehicle, Jordan had been in Grady Memorial Hospital until he was released without notification to law enforcement.

May 07, 2008 - On 05/06/2008 the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force along with the Temple Police Department, Harker Heights Police Department, and the Killeen Police Department arrested 18-year old Damiee Kendrick Johnson at an apartment complex in Harker Heights. Johnson and 28-year old Rico Doyle are both accused of shooting 18-year old Tyrone Haskins this past September, then leaving him to die in the street.

May 06, 2008 - On May 05, 2008, the Eastern District of Louisiana U.S. Marshals Service Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) arrested Darryl Dwight McQuillion (AKA: Gregory Galloway) at a local homeless shelter on Camp St. New Orleans, LA. McQuillion, 58, was wanted on a federal parole violations warrant by the U.S. Marshals Service for violating the conditions of his federal parole on 1985 and 1986 convictions for armed bank robbery in San Francisco, CA. He was also wanted by the Milwaukee, WI Police Department for an April 2008 warrant charging him with bank robbery.

May 05, 2008 - A high level sex offender who had fled the state to avoid arrest was captured late Saturday morning in downtown Tucson, AZ by U.S. Marshals. Shane G. Vaudry, 32, was arrested on May 3, 2007 at the Greyhound bus station after returning to Arizona from North Carolina. Vaudry was wanted by the Benson Police Department for failing to update his sex offender registration and also had an outstanding Tucson Police Department warrant.

May 05, 2008 - On 5/2/08, Robert Thomas Franks was arrested in New Orleans, Louisiana by investigators from the Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF). Franks was wanted by the Honolulu, Hawaii Police Department for invasion of privacy. Honolulu PD detectives say that Franks allegedly video recorded his stepdaughters with a camera hidden a bathroom of their residence on multiple occasions.

May 02, 2008 - Phoenix, Ariz. – This afternoon members of the U.S. Marshals led Phoenix High Intensity Drug Task Force (HIDTA) Fugitive Task Force arrested an alleged child rapist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lance Kelly, 51, was wanted by the Albuquerque Police Department after it was alleged that he raped a 10 year old girl. Shortly after the issuance of an arrest warrant for Lance Kelly, Detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department and Deputy U.S. Marshals in Albuquerque conducted a joint fugitive investigation which developed information that Kelly was living in the Phoenix area. This morning the information was quickly relayed to the U.S. Marshals in Phoenix. After a brief surveillance Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers located Kelly in an apartment at 85th Ave and Peoria Ave, at which time Kelly was arrested. Kelly was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Albuquerque, NM.

May 02, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Kingsland Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals South Florida Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team in Florida City, Florida based on information generated by the Savannah Office of the Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Amos Southall, 27, was being sought on a warrant issued in Kingsland/Camden County, Georgia charging him with Murder.

May 02, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Sylvania Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals New York /New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in Brooklyn, New York on May 1, 2008, based on information generated by the Savannah Office of the Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Tyoune Hasheen Young, 17, was being sought on warrants issued in Sylvania, Georgia charging him with Murder.

May 01, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service (USMS) sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) requested the assistance of the USMS sponsored Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force in the arrest of 28 year old Jimmy Mendoza of San Antonio, Texas after learning he was hiding in California. Mendoza has a significant criminal history to include Weapons Charges. Also a confirmed member of the Mexican Mafia, Mendoza was considered to be armed and dangerous.

April 30, 2008 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Task Force along with the Fort Worth Police Department arrested Devin Garrison after a brief high speed pursuit and subsequent foot chase in Fort Worth, Texas. Garrison, 18, is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Rigobero Duvon that occurred during an armed robbery on November 28, 2007 in New Orleans.

April 30, 2008 - Investigators from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Reuben Levy, 35. During the arrest, a USMS investigator in fear for his life fired at Levy as he was being dragged through the Rite Aid parking lot by Levy’s vehicle. Levy attempted to flee using the motor vehicle and led investigators on a short but high speed chase only to be captured less than 2 miles from the original location. Levy was located hiding in a shed and was non-compliant at the time of his arrest.

April 30, 2008 - On April 29, 2008, a West Palm Beach Florida man, Ricardo David Funes-Valle 20, was arrested in the Tampa Bay Area. After investigations by the City of West Palm Beach Police Department into the Murder of Scott E. Graham, Ricardo David Funes-Valle was identified a suspect based on crime scene evidence.

April 29, 2008 - Ernest Patrick, a twenty-five year old Houston man was arrested last night in Lafayette, LA. Patrick was Wanted by Harris County (Houston) for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child under fourteen years of age. Patrick was staying with friends in an effort to avoid detection. Members of the Western District of Louisiana’s Task Force received information late yesterday afternoon about Patrick being in the Lafayette area.

April 29, 2008 - The Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force, sponsored by the United States Marshals Service, is slated to hold two one day training seminars for state and local law enforcement agencies in east Texas. The first seminar will be held May 21, 2008 at the Collin County Community College in McKinney with the second to be held on May 22, 2008 at the Tyler Junior College (West Campus) in Tyler. The seminars will focus on cutting edge law enforcement techniques for tracking down and apprehending violent criminals who are on the run from the law and do not want to be caught.

April 28, 2008 - The old adage “You can run, but you can’t hide” finally caught up with Susan Lefevre. Lefevre was sentenced in Saginaw County, MI on 02/27/1975 to a prison term of 10-20 years for conspiracy to violate drug laws and violation of drug laws. Lefevre served approximately one year at the Women’s Division, Detroit House of Corrections (currently the Robert Scott Correctional Facility) in Plymouth, MI. She walked away from the prison on 02/26/1976. She was charged with Escape and a warrant was issued by the State of Michigan on 02/27/1976.

April 25, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Glynn County Sheriff’s Department was by the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in Rochester, New York on April 25, 2008, based on information generated by the Savannah Office of the Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. John Cunningham, 27, was being sought on warrants issued in Glynn County, Georgia charging him with Probation Violation and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

April 25, 2008 - El Paso, TX - United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, LaFayette Collins announces the arrest of Rodolfo Medina wanted in Juarez, Mexico for a 2004 Homicide.

April 25, 2008 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 21 year old Adrian Jesus Guia Jr. of Kerrville, Texas after his expulsion from the Republic of Mexico. Guia is charged by indictment in Kerrville, Texas for Sexual Assault of a Child. Guia fled the Kerrville area before he was arrested and became a fugitive living in Coahuila, Mexico to avoid prosecution in this case.

April 25, 2008 - Three fugitives were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force. Ricardo Cortez Cook of Tallahassee, FL was wanted for the offense of Attempted Homicide-Willful Kill Premeditated, Aggravated Battery Causing Bodily Harm, and Violation of Probation stemming from an original offense of Marijuana Possession with Intent to Sell. Gary Burgess, a Florida registered sex offender, was wanted for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and Failure to Notify Change of Residence within 48 hours. Anthony Antonio Blake, of Tallahassee, FL, was wanted on warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm in Public.

April 24, 2008 - Swami Prakashanand Saraswati, 79, known to his followers as Shree Swamiji, was arrested at Washington Dulles International Airport by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force as he arrived aboard a flight from Europe. Saraswati was indicted by a Hays County, Texas Grand Jury in April 2008 after a criminal investigation conducted by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office resulted in a 20 count indictment alleging Saraswati committed indecent acts with two children from 1993 thru 1996.

April 24, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by Savannah Police Department for Double Homicide, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Squad in Houston, Texas based on leads sent to them by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. New leads generated by the Marshals Service indicated that Gonzales had fled the Savannah, Georgia and was possibly on a bus headed to Texas. The Savannah Task Force passed the information to the Marshals’ Task Forces in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio to await the arrival of possible buses to major cities in Texas.

April 24, 2008 - Strike Team Officers from the Fort Worth Police Department, along with Deputy United States Marshals arrested Jay Allen and Malcolm Strickland on charges of Capital Murder. Allen and Strickland are considered suspects in the murder of Michael Myers, 59, during the robbery of the Best Western located in Fort Worth, TX. Myers was shot multiple times during the robbery which occurred at approximately on April 21, 2008.

April 23, 2008 - The second of two murder suspects wanted in the death of Barry Hairston who died March 30 from wounds he sustained in a shooting incident at the Deep Blue Seafood on September 30, 2007 in Martinsville was captured by U.S. Marshals from Greensboro, NC on Tuesday. Corey Demon Turner, 30, of Martinsville was arrested without incident after marshals spotted him leaving a residence in Burlington, NC.

April 23, 2008 - A sexual predator fugitive wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department for a Felony Probation Violation was arrested by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department. Stephen Alexander Bell was being sought on a Probation Violation Warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with violating his probation for the removal of the state mandated monitoring device. Bell was declared a sexual predator by the Sexual Offender Review Board on March 14, 2008.

April 22, 2008 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the San Antonio Police Department’s (SAPD) Repeat Offender Program (ROP) Officers partnered to locate and arrest Indiana fugitive Joel Barrozo. Barrozo had five felony warrants out of St. Joseph’s County in Indiana. The charges ranged from Rape to Criminal Confinement and Robbery.

April 22, 2008 - An Ascension Parish fugitive profiled on the FOX television program America’s Most Wanted and digital billboards all over the Southern United States was arrested Monday night in Holden, Louisiana. John Ryan Stephens was wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear for trial in December of 2002. Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force Investigators used tips from callers who saw AMW and the Crime Stoppers “wanted posters” to end Stephens’ almost six year run.

April 21, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by Savannah Police Department for Murder was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) Trap Unit in Savannah, GA. Jarnard M. Williams, 18, was being sought on a Bench Warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm in Committing a Crime, and Theft By Receiving Stolen Property.
