Austin,
TX – Santos F. Garcia, 22 of Fort Worth was arrested this morning
by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in the 600 block of Osage in Leander
without incident after Garcia was identified as the alleged shooter in a
homicide occurring last week in Fort Worth resulting in the death of a
17-year old male.
The U.S. Marshals Service’s Dallas-Ft. Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike
Team initiated an investigation to determine the whereabouts of Garcia who
fled shortly after the murder. The investigation in Ft. Worth revealed that
after the homicide, Garcia fled the area and arrived in Leander Sunday. The
Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was notified of Garcia’s probable whereabouts
last night and surveillance was established confirming Garcia’s presence in
a suspect residence. Garcia surrendered to officers and discovered Ester
Cortez, 23 of Ft. Worth also wanted for Providing False Statements to law
enforcement and Richard Santana Loza, 20, of Ft. Worth wanted for Engaging
In Organized Criminal Activity. All 3 fugitives were remanded to the
Williamson County Jail pending their return to Ft. Worth.
LaFayette Collins, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas,
states, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is committed to hunting down
criminals who seek refuge in our community and we are happy to be returning
all three fugitives to Tarrant County where they will have their day in
court”.

Department – Intelligence Unit, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Travis
County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.
