Marshals Task Force Captures Man Wanted for East Alabama Murder
Montgomery, AL – This morning, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested John Alan Lisenby in Mobile, Alabama. Lisenby was wanted by the Lanett Police Department for a Murder regarding the brutal stabbing death of his girlfriend Amanda Englehardt, which occurred in the early morning hours on Friday, February 27, 2009.

The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Montgomery was contacted on Friday by Lanett Police Department and both agencies began working to locate Lisenby. “They developed information on Monday that Lisenby might be in Mobile, Alabama”, said U.S. Marshal Jesse Seroyer. “Our task force investigators contacted our task force members in Mobile for assistance. On Monday task force members interviewed several people in Mobile and began surveillance in areas where Lisenby could be located. This morning they saw Lisenby on Sage Avenue in Mobile, Alabama still driving the car he was driving the night of the murder. Task Force members approached Lisenby and were able to safely take him into custody. This has was once again been a great example of when law enforcement agencies work together to take a violent individual off the streets,” said Marshal Seroyer.

Lisenby was transported to the Mobile Metro Jail, where he will be held pending extradition.
The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a team comprised of U.S. Marshals and state and local law enforcement officers in Alabama and Mississippi.
