DOUBLE-MURDER SUSPECT, ONE OF U.S. MARSHALS ‘15 MOST WANTED’
ARRESTED IN JAMAICA

David Clarke - CapturedMIAMI, FL – A Jamaican national, accused in the brutal double murder of a young South Florida couple, was arrested early this morning by Jamaican authorities.

David Clarke, 26, was recently added to the U.S. Marshals “15 Most Wanted Fugitive’ list for his alleged participation in the June 2007 murders in Lauderhill, FL.

Jamaica Constabulary Force and Jamaican Defense Force members made the arrest at a residence located in the Hill Run District in St. Catherine's Parrish, Jamaica at approximately 5:30 a.m. CST. Clarke was subdued after a brief struggle and later transported to a high-security prison facility in Kingston. Clarke will be arraigned on a provisional arrest warrant there on Friday.
On June 16, 2007, Clarke and two other assailants, Clinton Dinnall and Anthony Bennett, reportedly waited for Chris Thompson and Cassandra Williams at the couple’s residence in Lauderhill, then shot and killed them. The alleged assassins then stuffed the couple’s bodies in the trunk of a car and abandoned the vehicle in Sunrise, Fla., where authorities made the discovery. Bennett and Dinnall were arrested a few weeks later and charged with first-degree murder.

“This is an outstanding example of the productive relationship we continue to enjoy with our law enforcement counterparts in Jamaica,” said U.S. Marshal Christina Pharo of the Southern District of Florida. “We want to thank them for their continued cooperation with our Field Office there and also acknowledge the hard work of the dedicated Marshals personnel stateside, as well as our partners here in Florida. Together, we have apprehended a fugitive wanted in one of the most heinous crimes in recent memory.”
