Computer-generated extratropical storm surge model guidance from the National Weather Service's Meteorological Development Laboratory are available in text form for the East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and Norton Sound. Experimental versions for the Northwest Coast and Arctic Alaska are also available. Note that the forecast values are presented in tenths of a foot! If you have any questions related to actual forecasts of water level, contact your local National Weather Service Forecast Office Coverage for the extratropical storm surge model is shown for the East Coast (21K), the Gulf of Mexico (25K), and Norton Sound, Alaska (20K). The winds and pressures needed to drive this surge model are taken from one of the NWS's atmospheric forecast models, the Aviation Model (AVN). Experimental, computer generated, Extratropical Water Level Forecasts (Status maps are provided to give the user a quick overview of a region) and Probabilistic Hurricane Storm Surge Forecasts are also available.
