AMVETS Scholarships

Provides tuition discounts and scholarships to Veterans and their families through certain universities.

Air Force Association Scholarships

Presents scholarships and grants to Air Force active duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members and their dependents.

Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) Educational Foundation

Awards $2,000 scholarships to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, Veterans, and their spouses or dependents, who are currently enrolled full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited 4-year college or university in the U.S.

Army Aviation Association of America Scholarships (AAAA)

Awards scholarships and interest-free loans annually to members of AAAA and their spouses, unmarried siblings, unmarried children, and unmarried grandchildren of current and deceased members. Some scholarships are specifically reserved for enlisted, warrant officer, company grade, and Department of the Army Civilian members.

Coast Guard Exchange System Scholarship Program

Provides college scholarships to students who are dependents of Coast Guard active duty, reserve and military retired members, current civilian NAF and APF employees and current Coast Guard Auxiliarists that meet eligibility requirements.

Coast Guard Foundation Scholarship

Offers a variety of scholarships for enlisted personnel, Reservists and dependents of Coast Guard Service Members.

Dr. John Allwein Scholarship for Military Veterans Injured in the Line of Duty

Provides $2,000 to undergraduate and graduate students with physical service-related injuries return to school. Applicant must have experienced severe combat injury and disability as a result of military service in the Middle East within the last 5 years.

Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Scholarships

Awards more than $90,000 annually in scholarships to deserving students. FRA scholarships are awarded to FRA members, their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Full Scholarship for Veterans

Adrian College's Operation Education program offers a disabled American Veteran, who was injured during combat in Afghanistan or Iraq post Sept. 11, 2001, a full scholarship toward earning his or her college degree.

Funds for Veterans' Education

Provides up to $3.5 million in 2008-2009 undergraduate scholarships for Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and who are now enrolled in college or vocational-technical school.

Graphic or Web Design Career Scholarship

Offers the Louis H. Schilt Memorial Scholarship to Service Members injured in the line of duty who are interested in pursuing a career in graphic or Web design. All required supplies, including state-of-the-art Apple iMac computers and Adobe Creative Suite software, are provided to scholarship recipients at no cost.

Horatio Alger Military Veterans Scholarship

Provides scholarships for Veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. Each scholarship is valued at $5,000.

Liberty University's Heroes Fund Scholarship

Offered to Service Members and Veterans who were wounded in the Gulf Wars (Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, or Operation Iraqi Freedom). Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) - Educational Assistance

Offers scholarships, grants and loans to students seeking undergraduate degrees. Includes a scholarship search engine to find potential avenues of financial aid available to the military community.

Military Order of the Purple Heart's Scholarship Program

Offers competitive scholarships to members, spouses, widows, dependents and grandchildren of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Education Programs

Provides members of the Navy and Marine Corps and eligible family members and survivors with needs-based scholarships and interest-free loans for educational purposes.

Operation Education Scholarship

University of Idaho scholarship for severely injured U.S. military personnel and/or their spouses. Scholarship program is specifically targeted toward Service Members injured since September 11, 2001. Priority is given to Idaho residents, but the program is available to individuals from all states.

Paralyzed Veterans of America Scholarship

Offers scholarships to Paralyzed Veterans members and their families so that they may achieve their educational goals. Applications are due June 1, 2009.

Ranger Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund

Grants up to 25 annual $1,000 competitive scholarships to Army Rangers and their dependents.

Scholarship Program for Amputee College Students

The National Amputation Foundation offers six scholarships to college students who have a major limb amputation and who will be attending an accredited university as full time students. The deadline for 2008 was August 31.

Information on organizations offering grants and scholarship opportunities to people who are blind or have a visual impairment.

The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA)

Supports uniformed services enlisted personnel, their families and survivors, including active components, Reserve and National Guard and all retirees, and works to stop the erosion of earned benefits through legislative efforts. Learn about TREA's National Scholarship program and insurance plans.

University Pledges Full Scholarships to Veterans

Beginning in fall 2009, the University of Rochester will provide full scholarships for Veterans to attend its College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, the Eastman School of Music undergraduate studies program and the School of Nursing's RN completion (RN to BS) program. Tuition will be funded through a combination of benefits under the revised GI Bill, federal and state aid and the new Rochester Pledge Scholarship. For more information, call 585-276-3693.

Veterans Upward Bound Undergraduate Scholarships

Guidelines, instructions and nomination forms for scholarships through National Association of Veterans Upward Bound Project Personnel (NAVUBPP), a program designed to help eligible military veterans refresh their academic skills so that they can successfully complete the post-secondary school of their choosing.

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Military Scholarship Program

Program of the VFW provides scholarships for education or training to VFW members who are currently serving in uniform or have been discharged in the past 36 months. The scholarships will be awarded to servicemembers from each branch of service (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard)
