Elementary Science FairSponsored By: The Office of Educational Programs (OEP)
Each student receives a ribbon for participating in the fair. The winner -- one for each grade level -- is awarded a medal and honorable mention medals are given out. Over 100 Suffolk County schools take part every year in BNL's Elementary School
Science Fair. Some 470 projects, created by over 500 Suffolk County children ranging from
kindergarten to 6th grade, compete. The student projects include charts,
experiments, demos, diagrams, and collections with a scientific objective.
BNL scientists and elementary school teachers judge the contest.
