From Ants to Yo-Yos: Brookhaven Lab's 2005 Elementary School Science Fair

May 13, 2005

The seven first-place winners of Brookhaven Lab's 2005 Elementary School Science Fair created diverse projects, from describing the food preferences of ants to prescribing the best yo-yo string. The students' projects were among more than 500 entered in the contest by 116 Suffolk County schools. Brookhaven Lab scientists and local elementary school teachers judged the projects, based on scientific thought, creativity, thoroughness, and clarity.
