The TRICARE Acquisition Policy Letters, TRICARE Acquisition Directives (TADs), the TAD companion document the TRICARE Procedures, Guidance, and Information (PGI), and other related information (e.g., Guides, Forms, Plans, Briefs) are available on this site. These documents are aligned and intended to be used in conjunction with the appropriate Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/ Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)/ DFARS PGI parts and subparts.
The TRICARE Acquisition Policy Letters provide policy to TMA Staff. Each letter is identified by the subject and date issued.
The TMA Acquisition Directives (TADs) establish TMA acquisition policy, roles and responsibilities, and provide general procedures for implementing the policy.
The TMA PGI includes detailed procedures for executing TMA policy and those items that do not meet the criteria for inclusion in the TADs. They serve as the "how to" portion of the TMA acquisition policy structure and include guidance for the contracting staff, requiring activities, and program offices as it relates to the functional area of Contracting/Purchasing.
