America Supports You - Training & Placement

DoD program offers a one-stop location for military and their families to find assistance ranging from training and employment to financial help, free airline tickets for hospitalized Service Members and their families, computers, care packages and much more.

American Heroes Return

Addresses the needs of active duty military and Veterans as they transition from military duty to civilian life, or from active reserve status back to reserve status. Programs include Veterans restoration and transition, warrior transition and Veteran transitional housing.

American Legion - Heroes to Hometowns

Provides transition assistance to severely injured Service Members by establishing a support network and coordinating resources on his or her behalf.

Army Career & Alumni Program (ACAP)

Provides pre-separation counseling on transition benefits and services and job assistance training, including information for family members.

Community of Veterans

Designed as a resource to connect Veterans with Veterans to help them transition into civilian life easier. A joint effort of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) and the Ad Council.

DoDVets

Provides information for disabled Veterans. Includes federal employment information, Q&As for disabled Veterans and managers, internships, scholarships and fellowships, grants, education and training and transition centers.

Easter Seals' Military & Veterans Initiative

Offers Service Members, Veterans and family members services to help in transitioning to civilian life.

Facilitate the Reintegration of National Guard Troops Returning from Deployment

Provides information on state reintegration services for returning Service Members and their families. Includes information on emergency financial assistance, education and housing programs, mental health hotlines, services for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) and reintegration counseling.

Offers advice for returning service men and women on military transitions, disaster preparedness and routine health.

Offers transition assistance to veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as assistance with mental wellness, employment, education, events and navigating the VA system.

REALifelines - Recovery & Employment Assistance Lifelines

Provides individualized job training, counseling and re-employment services to each and every veteran seriously injured or wounded in the War on Terrorism. Job training and employment services are also available to spouses in families that have suffered an active duty casualty, as well as to family members who have temporarily left their jobs to be with their loved ones during recovery.

Transition Assistance Program (TAP)

A partnership among the DoD, VA, Transportation and the Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) created to meet the needs of separating Service Members during their period of transition into civilian life by offering job-search assistance and related services.

Provides assistance to transitioning military personnel leaving service and their family members. Includes printable pre-separation guides for both Active Duty and Reserve/National Guard Service Members.

United States Welcome Home Foundation

Program provides outreach, education and training, reintegration and wellness support programs to returning Veterans.
