Lee Nuclear Station

Duke Energy has applied for a permit to impact wetlands and waters of the United States as part of the construction of the proposed William States Lee III Nuclear Station near Gaffney, in Cherokee County.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is serving as a cooperating agency with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) in the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed project.  For more information please see the Public Notice issued by the Corps of Engineers and the Permit Drawings.  Also visit the USNRC website for a description of the overall project and EIS schedule.

Shipyard Creek

Shipyard Creek Associates, LLC has applied for a permit to conduct maintenance and new work dredging in association with the development of a private shipping terminal in Shipyard Creek, Charleston County, South Carolina. For more information, please see the Public Notice issued by the Corps of Engineers, the associated Permit Drawings, and the attached reports and associated documents.

Navy Base ICTF

Navy Base ICTF

The Charleston District is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement for the potential impacts associated with the proposed construction and operation of the Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF), located on the former Charleston Naval Complex in North Charleston, SC. Palmetto Railways intends to construct and operate an ICTF on the CNC in North Charleston. A public scoping meeting was held on November 14, 2013 to solicit input from adjacent property owners and interested parties about the proposed project. Since that time, Palmetto Railways has significantly adjusted their proposed plans, so the Charleston District another scoping meeting on October 27, 2015. Public comments on the new proposed plan are being accepted through November 27, 2015.

I-73 Project

                

South Carolina Department of Transporation proposed a project for a national highway corridor that would provide a link from Michigan to South Carolina. The South Carolina section will consist of a 75.3 mile long, four-lane interstate. Since the I-73 Project would require the placing of fill material into waters of the United States, a permit is required prior to construction of the project.
