Google Earth (.kmz) files

Google Earth is a fascinating, free download that lets you view the earth in many different ways. Users can generate layer files to highlight many different types of data. If you have Google Earth, you might be interested in the layer files we are generating for the Tahoe:

• Penny Pines Plantations shows the Penny Pines plantations across the forest, including a flyover option.
• Snowtel data layer (from NRCS) has interactive links to weather sensor sites across the western US.

If you don't have Google Earth, you can download it from earth.google.com/. This free download is available for both Mac and Windows platforms. A high speed connection is strongly recommended.
