Environmental Health Perspectives Volume 114, Number 1, January 2006
Environmental Health Perspectives January 2006 On the Cover. When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the United States on 29 August 2005, it wreaked devastation unlike any natural disaster the country has seen. Articles in this month's issue explore the environmental health aftermath of Katrina, the contribution of previous environmental damage to the extent of the hurricane's effects, the response of the environmental health community to the disaster, and where we go from here to prevent or mitigate a similar future scenario.
