From March 2006 through June 2007, the National Interagency Fuels Technology Team (NIFTT) traveled around the U.S. to conduct workshops with the goal of training managers in fuel assessment and planning techniques using ArcGIS spatial application tools. The title of the workshop course was Basic Integrated Fuels Planning Using LANDFIRE Data. Specifically, the team used LANDFIRE data in conjunction with spatial application tools to provide examples of ways to prioritize and plan hazardous fuel reduction and ecosystem restoration efforts.

This trial period of the workshop course offered NIFTT the opportunity to collect student feedback. NIFTT is now updating the course based on the feedback provided and is scheduled to offer the course again in 2010. Please check back for details.
