What is the Continuity of Operations (COOP) and the COOP list?

In the event of any disasters or threatening situations, Federal government agencies will assume the Continuity of Operations (COOP), a plan to ensure: ongoing work functions, protect essential facilities and information, reduce disruptions to operations, reduce any loss of life, and try to recover from the emergency and provide full service to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

The COOP list--which each employee must have with him/her at all times -- is a calling tree that includes contact information for all International Programs staff member.

During an emergency or simulation, your supervisor or the head of the calling tree will call you to make sure you are safe and/or give you information.
