As part of its development of training and service programs, DGPHCD develops training materials and other tools, such as technical guidelines, and adapts suitable materials from other CDC sources. These materials can be downloaded or ordered free-of-charge.

To download

  1. Click on download.
  2. Open the file.
  3. Select a folder to which you will unzip the file.
  4. Click Unzip.
  5. Go to the folder and click on RightSizeSetup.exe

To install the database

After installing Rightsize, right-click on the database file above for instructions.

To access the case study

  1. Open Rightsize.
  2. On the menu bar, go to Tutorials.
  3. Select Micronutrient Case Study.

The computer-based Micronutrient Malnutrition case Study is based on a national survey conducted in Azerbaijan. The training incorporates RightSize, a computer software tool that calculates sample size. RightSize teaches optimal practices by showing the effects of differing assumptions on sample size of simple random and cluster surveys. Effects of user choices on the costs and timeliness of the survey are shown in both text and graph formats. The target audience includes public health employees and students who design and develop surveys. This project was created in cooperation with NCCDPHP.

The training
MAPit - Micronutrient Action Plan Instructional Tool

MAPit is a training tool for epidemiologists and other health professionals to increase their understanding of, and involvement in, micronutrient malnutrition-elimination programs. It targets those who want to strengthen their overall understanding of, and involvement in, micronutrient malnutrition-elimination programs. The target audience includes public health personnel at all levels. This project was created in cooperation with NCCDPHP.

Modular Learning Components (Mini-Modules)

These self-paced computer-assisted training tutorials provide interactive instruction. The training tools concentrate on a single learning objective and provide in-depth descriptions of the subject and an opportunity to practice the skills learned through a series of interactive components and examples. The target audience includes public health employees and trainees of field epidemiology training programs.

This training includes computer-based and classroom epidemiologic case studies that focus on real-life foodborne disease outbreak investigations. The target audience includes public health employees with basic epidemiology knowledge. This project was developed in cooperation with PHPPO and NCID.
