Summer Ranger/Summer Maintenance Positions
The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pomme de Terre Project Office, hires temporary summer staff for working in campgrounds, beaches, boat ramps and natural resource management areas. The positions are available through the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP).
Applicants for summer ranger positions must be at least 18 years old, enrolled at an accredited school, taking a minimum of a half-time course load, and have at least 30 semester hours (with 6 or more hours of natural science) completed prior to employment.
Successful ranger applicants will be required to work part-time (non-school hours) during the spring semester. The work will convert to full time (40 hours per week) at the completion of the spring semester and continue through the summer to the start of the fall semester. Part-time work may resume in the fall. Shifts normally involve working weekends, nights, and holidays through the summer.
Applicants for summer maintenance positions must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited school, taking a minimum of a half-time course load.
Successful maintenance applicants will work a full-time schedule (40 hours per week) after the completion of school this spring and continue through the summer to the start of school in the fall. Work shifts normally involve working weekends and holidays through the summer.
All applicants will need to complete a resume, SF 171, or OF 612 application form, provide a copy of their complete college transcripts and high school diploma along with a letter from the school verifying their enrollment and good standing.
