Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers have performed a wide variety of jobs at the Pomme de Terre Project including fish and wildlife habitat improvements, playground inspections, park hosts, tour guides, tree pruning and grounds keeping duties.

The Corps of Engineers encourages everyone to take pride in the project’s natural and cultural resources. You can volunteer to do work which many times could not be accomplished without your help.

Volunteer jobs range from small one-day projects to long-term projects, which may require special skills. The volunteer coordinator will review the volunteer’s application and try and match them with one of the volunteer jobs or identified work items.

The reasons people volunteer are numerous, and the rewards take many forms. People of all ages enjoy being out of doors and working with the professional ranger staff. But most of all people volunteer because they enjoy doing work, without monetary compensation, for the benefit of others.

Volunteers can be reimbursed for out - of - pocket incidental expenses with prior approval. Additionally, volunteers may be provided a free campsite dependent upon the value of the volunteer services they are providing to the project.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Pomme de Terre Project, please notify us and we will send you a volunteer application.
