JAMAICA - JAPAN - JORDAN

JAMAICA - Passport or original birth or naturalization certificate and valid driver’s license or state-issued photo ID, onward or return ticket, and proof of sufficient funds required. If traveler is younger than 18 years, an ID card, such as a school ID will be accepted. For business or study, a visa must be obtained in advance for $100. Departure tax $17 (sometimes included in airline ticket, otherwise, paid at airport). KUWAIT - KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

KAZAKHSTAN - *Passport, onward/return ticket, and visa required. Submit 1 application form, written request indicating purpose of trip, a valid passport with a minimum of 60 days validity (no photocopies accepted), 1 passport sized photo, and appropriate fee (payable by money order). Business and student visas require additional documentation. All visitors who plan to stay more than 30 days must also present to the Office of Visas and Registration (OVIR) within 30 days of arrival a certificate indicating a negative HIV test conducted no more than 1 month before registration. Foreigners, staying more than 5 days, must register with the local OVIR office within that same time period. KENYA - *Passport, visa, and onward/return ticket required. Visas should be obtained in advance. Airport visas are available for those traveling from a country where there is no Kenyan Embassy/High Commission. Travelers who opt to obtain an airport visa should expect delays upon arrival. Evidence of yellow fever immunization may be requested. Tourist visas require 1 application form, 2 photos, onward/return ticket, and $50 fee (money order or cashier’s check only). Multiple-entry visas require payment of a $100 fee (money order or cashier’s check only). Expedited visa service is available for an additional $10. Airport departure tax is $40. KIRIBATI (formerly Gilbert Islands) - *Passport (with minimum validity of six months), onward/return ticket, proof of sufficient funds, and visa required. Visa requires 1 application form and a visa fee of $25 for a single-entry visa or $40 for a multiple-entry visa. KOREA, DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF (North Korea) - *Passport and visa required. The United States currently does not maintain diplomatic or consular relations with North Korea. For visa information, contact the Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the United Nations, 820 Second Ave., New York, New York 10017 (212/972-3105). Attention: U.S. citizens may need a U.S. Treasury Department license in order to engage in any transactions related to travel to and within North Korea. Before planning any travel to North Korea, U.S. citizens should contact the Licensing Division, Office of Foreign Assets Control, U.S. Department of the Treasury, (202/622-2480) or www.treas.gov/ofac. U.S. Citizens without a valid U.S. passport and visa may be arrested, fined, or denied entry. As most travelers enter from China, travelers may need to obtain a two-entry visa for China. The visa is essential for departing from North Korea at the end of a visit or in an emergency.

KOREA, REPUBLIC OF (South Korea) - *Passport and onward/return ticket required. A visa is not required for a tourist stay of up to 30 days. For longer stays and other types of travel, obtain a visa in advance for $45. HIV test required for persons working as entertainers and staying longer than 90 days; U.S. tests results accepted. KUWAIT - *Passport and visa required. Visa issued at port of entry. Entry visas for U.S. citizens are valid for ten (10) years from date of issue for a maximum stay of one month. Submit 2 copies of the visa application, passport with a minimum of 3 months validity, 2 passport photographs, and $24 fee. To get a business visa, submit a letter from the firm requesting the visa in addition to the general requirements. To get a work visa, submit a letter of appointment from Kuwait, an official work permit issued by the General Department of Immigration Affairs in Kuwait, a police clearance certificate (from your local police station), a complete physical examination for contagious or disabling diseases (including HIV, Viral Hepatitis B, and Viral Hepatitis C) U.S. test results accepted, and pay a $44 entry visa fee. If tested positive for any disabling disease, entry is denied or foreign national may face deportation. KYRGYZ REPUBLIC (informally known as Kyrgyzstan) - *Passport and visa required. Visa requires 1 application form, passport, 1 photo, detailed letter of invitation, and pay the appropriate fee ($25-$200). Visa and processing fees vary, depending upon duration of stay and processing time requested. Include SASE for return of passport by mail (or proper fee for express mail service). Some countries require that your U.S. passport be valid at least 6 months or longer beyond the dates of your trip. If your passport expires before the required validity, you will have to apply for a new one.
