    Ep. #028 - Foreign Investigation Work & Champagne Charlie Case with IA Ryan Heethius

    Episode #028 - Please welcome two-time guest, Investigative Analyst Ryan Heethius of the Paris Field Office who speaks on his roles and responsibilities as a foreign field office IA for the Secret Service. He also speaks on an investigation he took part in back in the states called Champagne Charlie. IA Ryan Heethius is under the Investigative Support Division (ISD) for the Office of Investigations. Ryan has worked on many different cases to include, including counterfeit operations, money laundering, homicide, and cybercrime. The role of an Investigative Analysts are multi-faceted, consisting of broad-based criminological research, link analysis, intelligence data gathering, performing complex statistical analysis and trend forecasting for criminal and protective intelligence, develops curricula for and provides high-quality training for investigators, researchers, and support staff. IAs also travel frequently to support field offices and task forces, often assisting with search warrants and asset forfeiture. The work of IAs involves extensive knowledge of criminological theories, research methodologies, and the development and use of investigative and intelligence systems and analysis of investigative cases such as; financial crimes, access device fraud, telecom fraud, high- tech crimes, counterfeit U.S. currency and obligations, and protective intelligence.

    Episode #027 – Please welcome Retired Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robert Pacsi. ASAIC Pacsi recently served as the Security Coordinator for the Democratic National Convention and has been with the Secret Service for more than 22 years.  He started his career in the Indianapolis Field Office and completed an additional investigative assignment in the Houston Filed Office before transferring to the Presidential Protective Division (PPD) then on to the Dignitary Protective Division (DPD).  Since his time in D.C. and prior to undertaking planning in Milwaukee for the DNC, Robert served a variety of supervisory assignments in the Los Angeles Field Office and Cleveland Field Office.

    Episode #026 Please welcome Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ryan Moore. ASAIC Moore has served with the Secret Service for more than 18 years.  He started his career in the Chicago Field Office as a member of the Electronic Crimes Squad.  Since his time in the Chicago Field Office, Ryan has served in a variety of supervisory roles to include the Criminal Investigative Division’s CERT liaison program at Carnegie Mellon, the Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division, and the Office of the Chief Information Officer.  His assignments within the Office of the Chief Information Officer include Information System Security Manager, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, Deputy Chief Information Officer (Acting), and currently the Chief Information Security Officer.  Ryan has enjoyed the opportunity to work on cybersecurity issues from an investigative, protective intelligence, and enterprise perspective.

    Episode #025 - Please welcome Secret Service Uniform Division, Lieutenant Jeffrey Walker. Lieutenant Walker has been a member of the Uniformed Division for 17 and ½ years. He is currently assigned to the Outreach Branch, where he supervises the staff and manages the branch’s marketing, advertising, and recruiting efforts. As a Secret Service Recruiter, he works to bring in the best of the best for the Agency. He also served as a Uniformed Division Instructor at the Rowley Training Center, where he was responsible for providing classroom and practical instructions to Uniformed Division, Special Agents, and Technical Law Enforcement trainees and the coordination of UD Mission In-Services and Uniformed Division Recruit training.

    Episode #024 – Please welcome Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) Michael J. Swangler, of the Carter Protective Division (CPD). SAIC Swangler became a Special Agent with the Secret Service in 1997. He served in the Investigations (INV) Directorate in the Richmond, Virginia field office (RIC), then under the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), and also the Newark and Trenton, New Jersey field offices. After INV, he served under the Training (TNG) Directorate at the Secret Service Academy, James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC). Following that post, he was assigned to the Office of Protective Operations (OPO) Directorate on the Presidential Protective Division (PPD), then the Vice-Presidential Protective Division (VPD), and his current assignment as the Special Agent in Charge of CPD in Plains, GA.
