Underground Storage Tank program unveils new ‘Turbo Tank’ software

DEQ’s Underground Storage Tank (UST) program has developed an online tank self-certification service to assist owners in meeting their individual pollution prevention requirements. The program helps petroleum storage tank owners to understand these requirements with the goal of preventing or minimizing environmental contamination from the approximately 18,000 active USTs in Virginia.

The Turbo Tank service is a streamlined tool that makes for an easy-to-use experience. After signing up, new users answer a survey of questions that will help determine their compliance status. Once the survey is completed, tank owners are given a final report that the program generates. Owners may use this final survey report to identify the steps necessary to prevent environmental hazards while achieving and maintaining compliance. Please visit the Petroleum Program for details or more resources related to storage tanks.
