Installations and Logistics

From North: Take Interstate 395 South to Exit 8 (Washington Boulevard). Travel in the far right hand lane for 1/4 mile and take the Columbia Pike/Navy Annex exit. This will place you directly between Henderson Hall on the Right and the Navy Annex on the left.

From South: Take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 395. Take Exit 8A (Washington Boulevard). Travel in the far right lane for 1/10 mile and take the Columbia Pike/Navy Annex Exit. This will place you directly between Henderson Hall on the Right and the Navy Annex on the left.

From West: Take Route 66 East to Route 110/Pentagon. Stay in the right lane and continue to the Washington Boulevard exit. Continue to the Columbia Pike/Navy Annex exit. This will place you directly between Henderson Hall on the Right and the Navy Annex on the left.

From East: Take I-95 South to Interstate 495 West to George Washington Parkway. Follow the Parkway for 8 miles to I-395 South/Route 27 (Lyndon B. Johnson Exit). Stay right at the fork and take the exit for Route 224 West (Columbia Pike/Navy Annex). This will place you directly between Henderson Hall on the Right and the Navy Annex on the left.

The base is located on Interstate 40, 3 1/2 miles east of the city of Barstow. MCLB Barstow, is a vital link in the logistics complex that provides the weapons systems, equipment and special logistics essential to supporting the assigned missions of the Fleet Marine Forces.

To accomplish this, Barstow is positioned in a strategic geographical location.

It lies at the junction to three major highways systems of I-15, I-40, and Highway 58. I

t's the hub of all west coast rail traffic for the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe and the Union Pacific railroads. It's in the immediate proximity to the Daggett Airport, and the city is within 150 miles of the two major seaports of Los Angeles and San Diego.

Because of its arid desert climate, equipment can be stored outdoors with minimal maintenance required.

From Albany Airport to Base: Turn left onto Newton Road out of the airport parking lot. Travel Newton Road for approximately 1 mile then turn right onto Oakridge Drive (234). Oakridge Drive will merge into Moultrie Road after about 1 1/2 miles. Follow S. Moultrie Road to S. Mock Road. Turn left onto S. Mock Road and proceed for 1/2 mile and turn right onto Fleming Road. Proceed on Fleming Road for 2 miles. Enter the base through the main gate.

From the Atlanta Airport: Follow the signs out of the airport for Interstate 75 via Interstate 285, then follow the directions below.

From Atlanta-Take Interstate 75 South to Exit 99 (State-Highway 300 Cordele ,Georgia/Florida Parkway). Continue on 300 W to Albany (approximately 45 miles). Turn right onto Oglethorpe (Hgw 82 W) and then turn left onto Mock Road. Follow Mock Road to Short Street, then turn left onto Short Street. At the end of Short Street turn left onto Fleming Road. Enter the installation through the Main Gate, approximately 2 miles on the left.

From the South-Take 75 N to 82 W (Tifton exit). Follow 82 W to Albany (approximately 45 miles). Take Business 82 W in Albany to Mock Road. Follow above directions to main gate.

Directions from hotels on west side of town to Main Gate: From the West side of Albany ask hotel for directions to 19S. Take 19 S bypass for approximately 11 miles and just past Proctor and Gamble take the Moultrie/Marine Corps Exit # 1A (133 S). Once you exit off the ramp, get in the left lane. Continue for 1.2 miles to the Traffic Light at the intersection of Moultrie & Mock Roads. Turn left on Mock Road and proceed .75 miles to Fleming Road and turn right. Proceed to Main Gate (2nd Gate) of MCLB which will be on your left hand side.

3. Turn rIGHT on 14TH ST NW - go 0.8 mi

4. 14TH ST NW becomes US-1 SOUTH - go 1.4 mi

5. US-1 SOUTH becomes I-395 SOUTH - go 9.6 mi

6. I-395 SOUTH becomes I-95 SOUTH - go 84.4 mi

7. Take exit #84A towards ROCKY MT NC onto I-295 SOUTH - go 43.1 mi

8. Take the I-295 SOUTH exit towards EMPORIA(I-95 SOUTH)/ROCKY MOUNT NC - go 559.8 mi

9. Take exit #362A towards BLOUNT ISLAND onto I-295 NORTH - go 0.3 mi

10. I-295 NORTH becomes FL-9A SOUTH - go 6.0 mi

11. Take the FL-105 EAST exit towards BLOUNT ISLAND - go 0.4 mi

12. Turn LEFT on a local road - go < 0.1 mi

13. Bear LEFT on HECKSCHER DR - go 1.2 mi
