Sponsorships

Your company’s sponsorship of a Smithsonian exhibition or project can be tailored to meet specific goals. The following are some examples of programs sponsored by some of our corporate partners.

Donald W. Reynolds Center, Grand Opening

Target Corporation
In the summer of 2006, Target was lead sponsor of the grand opening of the magnificent Donald W. Reynolds Center, home to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. The celebration included a spectacular opening ceremony, an ice cream social, live music, dancing and more. More than 10,000 people attended the day’s events, made possible by the strong partnership shared by Target and the Smithsonian.

The Sant Ocean Hall Grand Opening, National Museum of Natural History

3M
3M was instrumental in aspects of the exhibition design of the National Museum of the Natural History’s permanent exhibition, The Sant Ocean Hall, which opened to enthusiastic crowds on September 27, 2008. The company contributed products and services, and financial support through the 3M Foundation, for the Hall.
