The Quality Control Unit 

The Quality Control Unit ensures: a laboratory wide customer service philosophy and practice; that laboratory services are of the highest quality; and that data produced is scientifically valid and of the type and quality needed for its intended use. 

The Quality Control Unit includes the following programs: Quality Assurance, Laboratory Certification, Safety, Environmental Compliance, Specimen Acquisition, Data Management (data entry and reporting) and Lab Maintenance. 

The Unit is also responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations that affect each of these programs and for taking the lead role in improving quality and customer service within the section.
