New MFA and Ph.D. students may be eligible to receive $1,000 Academic Achievement Scholarships for their first year of study. This award qualifies a student for in-state tuition rates and is renewable for a second year if the student makes satisfactory progress in his/her program during the first year. Beginning Fall semester 2010, a student who intends to pursue a degree in Studio Art including concentrations in Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Fibers, Metals and Jewelry, New Media, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture or Watercolor will be classified as a Studio Art Pre-Major when admitted to the University. After successfully meeting these requirements a degree plan will be processed converting the student to Studio Art major status in the concentration of their choice.
The Department of Studio Art offers a BFA degree with nine concentrations to choose from and an MFA in Studio Arts with nine concentrations to choose from. Select an area of study from the list below to learn more about its curriculum, faculty, and application procedure.
The deadline for application for most of our graduate concentrations is February 1 for fall admission and October 1 for spring admission. For more information on how to apply for the MFA in Studio Art, contact us or read the application instructions.
