Definition

The administrative record file, a subset of the site file, is the body of documents used by the Agency during a removal action to select a response.  It includes site specific data and documents that reflect the views of the public, including potentially responsible parties (PRPs), concerning this selection.  Only the index of the administrative record is filed in ER.

SDMS Keyword Description

14.01    Administrative Record and Addendum
This is a collection of documents that the EPA used to support the decisions on the remedial action taken.

14.02    Index
This is the index to the AR.  It is a part of the AR, but a separate paper copy of the index is maintained in the file.  

14.03    Site Sign-Off Sheet
The On-Scene Coordinator (OSC), legal counsel, and others concur that the AR does contain the documents that support the EPA responsiveness action.

14.04    Repository Receipt Letter (Signed)
This letter / form accompanies any AR that is submitted to a site repository by the EPA. Upon receipt of the AR, the repository designee acknowledges the shipment by signing the form. The signed form is then returned to the EPA.

14.05    General Correspondence
Any correspondence including letters, memoranda, notes, and record of communications generated or received by the EPA.

14.99     Other
