The National Police Challenge (NPC-50) is a 50-kilometer (31-mile) relay competition among local, state and federal law enforcement agencies from around the world. The NPC-50 is run in conjunction with National Police Week held each Spring in Washington, D.C. The Secret Service Employee Recreation Association coordinates the race on behalf of the law enforcement community.

The NPC-50 raises funds for a cause that strikes at the heart of all law enforcement personnel: providing for the families of those who have been slain in the line of duty. All proceeds, after expenses, go directly to Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and H.E.R.O.E.S . In the past nine years, this event has generated $396,000 for COPS and H.E.R.O.E.S.

Race PhotoThe NPC-50 is a friendly, competitive event designed to promote pride, physical fitness and camaraderie within the law enforcement community. Each team consists of ten law enforcement personnel who run the five-kilometer (3.1-mile) course one after the other.
