Description

Administrative and management data is currently presented to CC and Institute managers using a reporting program linked to the Hospital Statistical System (HSS). The HSS is a database populated with data derived from MIS. The rules for this derivation are old and sometimes arbitrary, and do not reflect current organization models. Management data must be collected directly into a revised administrative database, and the tools for reviewing this data must allow generation of ad hoc reports at arbitrary levels of detail.

Accomplishments-to-Date

The Information Systems Department (ISD) is evaluating software for report viewing that will allow an arbitrary level of "drill down" into management data.

FY 2000 Goals

  • Implement a new reporting tool on the HSS database
  • Redesign the HSS data model to better reflect current business models
  • Combine the HSS with the Clinical Data Repository (CDR) so that the information required for management of the CC is captured directly, rather
    than being derived from MIS
