The Museum Exhibit Galleries

The museum is open to the public every day from 9am to 5pm except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Admission fees are $6.00 for Adults (17-61) $3.00for Senior Citizens (62 and over), and Free for Children (16 and under) and members of the Hoover Presidential Library Association. The museum is located in West Branch, Iowa, just off Interstate 80 at Exit 254.

 

Permanent Exhibits

The Herbert Hoover Galleries Pictures and text from our permanent galleries. This exhibit periodically changes some artifacts for conservation reasons, but stays essentially the same.

 

Previous Temporary Exhibits

The Sixties: The Times They Are-a Changin' displayed April 22 - October 29, 2006. An exhibit focusing on the decade of the 1960s.

Under the Big Top: The Circus in America displayed January 29 - October 30, 2005. This exhibit looks at the history of the circus in America - "The Greatest Show on Earth".

Cottages and Castles: Homes of our Presidents displayed April 17 - October 31, 2004. This exhibit explored the humble beginnings, middle-class roots and aristocratic manors in which 42 American presidents have spent their lives.

In Search of African America: One Collector's Experience displayed January 17- March 21, 2004. An exhibit of African American memorabilia, books, artwork and other objects from the collection of James Hicks.

Christmas Around the World displayed November, 2003-January, 2004. An exhibit of 20 holiday trees decorated to resprent countries Herbert Hoover visited in his lifetime.

Old Man River: History Along the Mississippi River displayed at the museum from April 20-November 2, 2003. The history and culture along the Mississippi River told with photographs, artwork and artifacts.

Revolutionary America 1763-1789 Displayed at the museum from April 20-November 2, 2002 An exhibit telling the story of America's fight for independence..

The Eagle and the Dragon: U.S. Relations with China Displayed at the museum April 21-October 28, 2001 Chinese artifacts displayed in a replica pagoda.

Christmas at the White House Displayed at the museum November, 2000-January, 2001 Christmas trees decorated in the style of previous White House trees.

American Women!   Displayed at the museum April 22, 2000 - October 29, 2000 Featuring artifacts from more than 100 significant American women
