World Vision

USAID Partners

CARE International is involved in long-term development approaches.� Current projects in Zimbabwe are in the areas of Agriculture, Natural Resources Management and Small Economic Activity Development.

Catholic Relief Services

Catholic Relief Services was founded by the Catholic Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and disadvantaged outside the country.  CRS provides direct aid to the poor, and involves people in their own development, helping them to realize their potential.  In Zimbabwe, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) takes an integrated approach to programming by supporting initiatives in Justice and Peace, Food Security and Economic Strengthening centered around the impact of HIV/AIDS on communities. Particular emphasis is placed on projects targeting orphans and other vulnerable children.

Conservation Areas Management Programme for Indigenous Resources(CAMPFIRE)

CAMPFIRE focuses on the sustainable management and use of the considerable wildlife resources, which are found throughout many of the communal areas (the poorest in Zimbabwe).�� Conceptually, CAMPFIRE includes all natural resources, but its focus has been Wildlife Management in Communal areas, particularly those adjacent to national parks, where people and animals compete for scarce resources.�

Development Alternatives Inc.

Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI) is a consulting firm that helps business, government and civil society solve economic development problems.  DAI's project focus is on Economic Policy Reform, Financial Advisory Services, Enterprise Development, Democratic Governance, Environment and Natural Resources, Agricultural Policy, Agribusiness and HIV/AIDS. In Zimbabwe, DAI works through the Linkages for the Economic Advancement of the Disadvantaged (LEAD) using two main technical tracks; micro-finance and business development.

Futures Group International

Pact, Inc.

Pact is an independent international nonprofit organization and a recognized leader in capacity building, helping organizations and leaders learn the skills to provide better services.  In Zimbabwe, Pact is involved with strengthening the capacity of local AIDS service organizations in working with communities to combat HIV/AIDS, including community-driven programs that integrate effective HIV prevention with care for orphans.  Pact is also spearheading a new effort to strengthen the capacity of local organizations to articulate the aspirations of citizens and advocate for favorable policy change through the legislative process.

State University of New York (SUNY)

SUNY Center for International Development is unique in the field of international development.� It combines the considerable intellectual and technical resources of The State University of New York system with a dedicated team of multilingual, fiscally oriented, technical experts devoted solely to developing and managing development projects.� SUNY development activities focus on three main areas: Democracy, Governance and Civil Society; Environment, Health and Education; and Private Sector and Economic Development.  In Zimbabwe, SUNY is helping to develop more effective and accessible government institutions, with a special emphasis on the Parliament of Zimbabwe.

United Nations Relief and Recovery Unit

United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)

WFP is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger.�� Food is made available in three major forms: Food-for-Life (in emergencies caused by natural or man-made disasters), Food-for-Growth (targeting needy people at the most critical times of their lives e.g., babies, school children, pregnant and breastfeeding women and the elderly), and Food-for-Work (promotion of self-reliance through food-for-work projects).

Urban Institute

The Urban Institute (UI) is involved with independent analysis and better research to inform public policy decisions and improve understanding of the causes of widespread urban unrest.� UI areas of focus include: Municipal and Intergovernmental Finance, Public Administration and Local Government, Urban Development and the Environment, Housing and Real Estate Development, Social Sector Reform and Civil Society Development.
