  • Nationwide Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) site-- The Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) is published quaterly in January, April, July, and October. It contains a list of proposed actions that will soon begin or are currently undergoing environmental analysis and documentation on the Forest. It provides information so that you can become aware of and indicate your interest in specific proposals. We encourage your early and ongoing involvement in any proposals of interest to you.

    In February 2005 Formation Capital Corporation submitted a Plan of Operations describing their plans to mine cobalt, copper and gold on National Forest Land near Cobalt Idaho to the Salmon-Challis National Forest. As of May 2005 the Forest is in the process of evaluating the project and baseline data, developing alternatives and working on preparation of the Draft EIS. As additional information becomes available it will be posted on this page.
