The Director’s Office manages all executive branch agencies; provides governmental and external communications; conducts internal audits; coordinates legislative activities and creates tools and processes to manage for results.
Programs
Internal Audit
The Internal Audit function is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the operations of the agency. The Internal Audit function focuses on fiscal accountability and performance, and provides management with appraisals, analyses, and recommendations concerning the activities reviewed.
Public Affairs
Oversees internal and external communications of the department including all media relations. Staff is also available as a resource for the Governor’s Office and state agencies that need help in getting messages out to the public. DAS Public Affairs is committed to helping Oregonians better understand the work state government does on their behalf through effective management, improved efficiency and problem solving.
Legislative Coordination
Legislative coordination activities include providing guidance and training for agency staff that regularly work with the Governor’s Office and Legislature.
Managing for Results
Enhanced performance and accountability are achieved when the proper tools and processes are put in place to support managing for results. This section coordinates the department’s agency-wide efforts to manage more efficiently and effectively.
Statewide Audit Advisory Committee
The Statewide Audit Advisory Committee was created to promote excellence and professional, standards-based internal auditing services in state government. The committee serves in an advisory capacity to the director of the Department of Administrative Services.
