What is the DES Speakers Bureau?
This service offering is being provided, free of charge, by the FBI’s Operational Technology Division. Organizations can request top-notch experts within the Digital Evidence Section to speak at their events about a variety of topics pertaining to digital forensics, digital evidence, high-technology, and Internet safety. Each request is considered on a case-by case-basis.Who is eligible to request speakers from the DES Speakers Bureau?
Law enforcement agencies; schools; universities/colleges, libraries; community groups; civic organizations; businesses, and; associations. The requesting organization must reside either within an RCFL's service area; within 50 miles of a CART office or FAVIAU headquarters located in Quantico, Virginia.What if my organization is located outside the designated location of a CART or FAVIAU office or an RCFL’s service area? Can we still request a speaker?
Unfortunately, due to budget limitations, DES personnel cannot travel more than 50 miles from their office or outside the boundaries of an RCFL's service area for appearances.How often may I apply? Is there a fee?
There is no application fee and no limit to the number of times an organization may request speakers in a given year. However, due to scheduling and time limitations, there is no guarantee that all requests can be honored.How do I apply for a speaker?
- Review the DES Speakers Bureau topics and guidelines.
- Submit the speakers request form to speakersinfo@rcfl.gov or fax it to 703-985-3979. Once the form is received, you will receive a notification and a point of contact. This individual will notify the requester regarding their availability to appear at a particular event.
