Eight fishery management councils worked with NOAA Fisheries
to describe and identify EFH. Each of the Council links below
lead to pages that present the Secretarial approved Council EFH
textual descriptions and identifications and available geographical
representations. These EFH descriptions and identifications enable
Federal agencies to determine whether or not an action may adversely
affect EFH, thus requiring consultation. The life history information
provided by these pages will aid Federal agencies’ further
understanding of an action’s ecological impacts on EFH.
