The Version 3.0 ENERGY STAR TV products specification was finalized on February 4, 2008. As such, the comment period is now closed. Tier 1 of the new Version 3.0 specification is scheduled to go into effect on November 1, 2008. ENERGY STAR TV Test Methodology Workshop — July 20, 2006

International TV Power Consumption Test Methodology Workshop

The U.S. EPA, UK Market Transformation Programme and Australian Greenhouse Office are co-sponsoring an “International TV Test Procedure Workshop” in London, England on June 19, 2006, to be held in conjunction with the Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting (EEDAL) conference. The workshop will be designed as a working session, where participants will discuss and share feedback on a Draft test procedure designed to measure the power consumption of all TV technologies in active mode. International Workshop on Measuring and Reducing Television Energy Use

EPA attended an international workshop on “Measuring and Reducing Television Energy Use” in San Francisco, CA on June 28, 2005. The workshop focused on discussions to begin development of a global test procedure to measure the power consumption of televisions across all operational modes. Workshop materials are posted below.
