NCES MISSION & VISION
Our aim is to make this site an invaluable resource to support the Department of Defense (DoD) as we transition to Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES).
VISION
NCES will enable the secure, agile, robust, dependable, interoperable data-sharing environment for DoD where warfighter, business, and intelligence users share knowledge on a global network. This, in turn, facilitates information superiority, accelerates decision-making, effective operations and net-centric transformation.
MISSION
- Provide executive lifecycle management of enterprise capabilities to support the DoD transformation to net-centricity.
- Provide executive oversight in planning and delivery of Enterprise Services (ES) support to mission performance across the Warfighter, Business, and Intelligence mission Areas.
- Provide the infrastructure to publish data/metadata artifacts and enable the DoD Data Strategy.
FUNCTIONS
- Engage with Department's senior leaders to facilitate the strategic application of the DoD Enterprise Services.
- Ensure consistent and cost effective program/project/initiative planning and execution.
- Ensure the alignment of enterprise services programs/projects/initiatives through the horizontal integration and interoperability of ES requirements, standards, specifications, architectures, and capabilities.
- Determine the appropriate transition of the ES programs/projects/initiatives to NCES program architecture, operations, and sustainment.
- Partner with Programs of Records (PORs) across the Warfighter, Business, and Intelligence mission Areas on the integration and delivery of Enterprise Services.
