Animal Control Services
Southlake's Animal Control Officer responds to animal-related calls for service, collects stray animals, and investigates vicious animal complaints. The City of Southlake contracts with the City of Keller Regional Animal Adoption Center to maintain and care for lost animals and animal adoptions.

What happens if I find a stray animal after hours?
The Animal Control Officer works Monday through Saturday.

  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Closed Sundays. (*For an animal related emergency concerning a feral hog or other wild animal see below.)
  • If you find a stray animal after hours, please call the Southlake Police non-emergency number (817) 743-4522. You will be asked to keep the animal until the Field Services Officer reports for duty to transport the animal to the Keller Animal shelter.
  • For a concern involving animal cruelty please contact the Southlake Police Department at (817) 743-4522.

What information can you provide on the Feral Hogs in Southlake?
The Southlake Police Department has provided an information page to answer any of your questions or concerns about Feral Hogs. If you need help with a feral hog or other wild animal, please contact Field Services Officer Ronnie White at (817) 743-4519 or the non-emergency police line at (817) 743-4522.

What can be done about wild animals?
Southlake Police Department has traps available for checkout; you are responsible for setting the trap on your property. Please contact Animal Control for more information.

Can you tell me about animal tracking chips?
This is a microchip your veterinarian implants underneath your pet's skin.If your pet is found, a scanner "reads" the chip's information. This aids animal control officers across the county in reuniting pets and their owners.
