Serving You Virtually
-
Are the libraries open?
As the libraries move to further reduced hours and pivot to providing all reference and research assistance online, visits to Willis Library will be limited to those with UNT identification for laptop checkout, study and access to computers. The building is not open to the public.
All library users will be asked to maintain the appropriate social distancing recommended by health care officials. Signage has been placed around the building to remind users of their responsibilities in keeping surfaces as clean and isolated as possible, and surfaces within the building are being cleaned regularly. Group study should be conducted virtually, as group study rooms will not be available during this time.
Many of the UNT Libraries’ services are available virtually. If you have any questions concerning hours of operation or practicing healthy social distancing in Willis Library, please contact the UNT Libraries staff at AskUs@unt.edu.

Will I receive a refund on my parking pass?
Given that the vast majority of our on campus parking permits are sold on an annual basis (valid August until the next August), we have no plans at this time to issue refunds for what is expected to be a temporary issue. Please call Transportation Services at 940-565-3020 or email transporation.services@unt.edu for additional details.
-
Will I receive a refund on Spring fees?
Student fees are not calculated on an hourly or daily use structure. They are used to cover the long-term cost of offering students various necessary services, including resources such as equipment, maintenance and staffing. Learn more about fees and how they function. The library fee, for example, covers the development and maintenance of library materials students use to complete coursework, whether that is online or in-person. This includes materials students have checked out to use at home, such as laptops, for the remainder of the semester. While an actual prorated refund of fees would likely add up to a minimal amount for each individual, the collective detrimental impact of not funding these services for our community would be vast.
It’s a challenging time for all of us in the Mean Green family - students, faculty and staff. We continue to find new and innovative ways to support our students and keep our community positive and engaged through this crisis. Please contact Student Financial Services by emailing sfs@unt.edu, chatting online or calling 940-565-3225 for additional information.
If you are experiencing financial insecurity, please apply for assistance from our emergency grants-in-aid program available through the CARES Act. This money is available now and meant for you. The grants can help you pay your bills so you can stay in school and earn your degree as planned.

Is the Student Health and Wellness Center still open?
The Student Health and Wellness Center is available for patients who are ill or injured. To make an appointment, call 940-565-2333 so the medical staff can determine if there is the potential for COVID-19 exposure. The online appointment system is currently disabled because of this screening process.
Based on the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Denton County Public Health for preventing COVID-19, the Student Health and Wellness Center will focuse on seeing patients who are ill or injured until further notice. This change will limit the number of people on-campus per the recommendations of social distancing. These changes are only temporary, and the SHWC will resume normal operations when the current situation is more stable, and there is a lowered risk for all patients.
