Regional General Permits (GPs) are issued by the Alaska District Corps of Engineers. Some GPs authorize specific activities statewide, while others are specific to certain regions in Alaska. GPs can only authorize activities or categories of activities that have minimal impacts both individually and cumulatively. They are issued for five years, at which time they automatically expire, unless the Alaska District has completed the procedures to reissue the GPs.
The following is a list of the GPs currently in use or under review in the Alaska District. For detailed information, click on the underlined GP number of your interest to open the hyperlink.
Most GPs require written verification from the Corps of Engineers prior to conducting the work. Review the GP terms and conditions to ensure your project would comply with the GP, and follow the authorization procedures described in the GP text. Send this information to our appropriate office.
