EOE/M/F/D/V Responsibilities Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains firefighting vehicles or equipment. This includes, but is not restricted to the units, pumps, compressors, and generators. Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose discrepancies. Dismantles, repairs, reassembles vehicles or equipment utilizing hand tools and hoists. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring equipment. Repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, replaces defective assemblies and components such as engines, transmissions, collector gear boxes, transfer cases, differentials, and both water or hydraulic pumps. Tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. Welds broken parts and structural members. Fills out parts requests utilizing manufacturer’s publications. Documents work orders. May be required to perform roadside repairs, including during inclement weather. Maintains, cleans, and polices up work areas, maintenance compound, and parking areas to include snow removal. Performs additional duties to meet contract requirements. Employee must provide own hand tools at time of employment. May be required to work additional hours to include weekends and holidays. May be required to perform on-call duties for other than normal duty hour repairs. Hours may be changed at any time for short or permanent periods. Employee must be neat and clean at all times, work performed considered. Hair, beards, and mustaches will be kept trimmed and present a professional appearance. Employee must have excellent communication skills. G4S-IS will assist with training to become EVT Level II, III & master certifications. Qualifications Heavy physical stress on back. Requires prolonged standing on concrete floors and working in cramped or awkward positions. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Three years experience on all equipment listed above.
