 Open Access Schedules
Walker Intermediate operates on an open access schedule. The library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. except 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m. (lunch).

 Students may come to the library media center throughout the school day as needed.  Typically students may visit the library individually, in small groups, or with their entire class:

·         to check out and return materials,

·         to use the computer lab,

·         to take Reading Counts tests,

·         to read for pleasure or information,

·         to research topics for reports,

·         for information literacy classes,

·         to work in small groups on a classroom assignment,

·         to work with video equipment and video editing software (schedule with librarian).

ProQuest -Online Databases

DoDEA has purchased access for students to a online database collection. WWW.proquestk12.com is the web site. All students have been given a user logon and password. Parents may access this database collection after obtaining the latest userlogon/password from the Walker Media Specialist.

Book Fairs:  

The PTO operates three book fairs (Scholastic Books) each year in August, December and April.

The library media center is always looking for adult volunteers to help shelve books, prepare new materials, and other tasks. Please contact Mr. Tom Pierce, Information Specialist in the Media Center.
