The Language of Tests:Test-Taking Vocabulary Terra-Nova Testing - a word from our Counselor

All grade levels are given the Terra Nova Multiple Testing. TerraNova is a standardized test published by the CTB Corporation. It is administered annually to DoDEA students in grades 3-11.

 

The term, "standardized tests," means that these tests are always administered with the same directions and time limits, and are always scored the same way, to ensure fairness for all students.

Both standard and criterion-referenced assessments are used to monitor student achievement and also to evaluate system-wide progress towards meeting the goals of the DoDEA Community Strategic Plan. Blue square with white 'e'

 

Specifically, standardized assessments are designed to see how well our students perform compared to other students the same age throughout the nation. While, criterion-referenced assessments indicate how well students are performing based on the DoDEA Curriculum Standards.
