Recycling and Waste Disposal

All wastes generated on the post are picked up by a Korean contractor who sorts the wastes at their facility for recycling.  This sorting into various categories is required by Korean law and regulation, such as metals, plastics, glass and paper is part of the waste contract.

In fact, the recycling makes the contract much more cost effective to the U.S. Government since the waste contractor receives money for the recyclable materials and can then bid a smaller cost for the waste pick-up service.

For those living off-post need to follow city guidelines on how to properly dispose of your waste using Korea approved trash bags, food waste bags and recycling containers.  For more information, download the guides in the downloads tab or contact the Housing Office or your assigned Realtor/Property Manager.
