Operations and Management
Fleet Activities Okinawa is the Navy Local Area Coordinator, Okinawa Area Coordinating Committee Representative, Contracting Functional Area Chief, Real Estate manager, Disaster Preparedness Officer, among other important missions. We provide direct operational support to 7th Fleet assets including over 700 P-3 sorties, over 260 ship visits to White Beach and Tengan Piers, and over 100 visiting detachments, delegations, and official contingents.
Our operational assets include two C-12 aircraft, sophisticated target drones used in gunnery and missile exercises in designated ranges, surface-towed targets—the only target capability in WESTPAC. Also, in coordination with the USAF, the Navy Munitions Command Detachment holds one of the largest Navy munitions storage site in WESTPAC.
