ANNOUNCEMENTS

Flu Vaccines
The flu vaccine is still available for beneficiaries.

Pertussis Booster
All Army need a Pertussis Booster by mid-February. If you are unsure of your status, please contact the clinic or your unit's MEDPROS representative.

Upcoming Closures
Feb. 15-18 (Training Holiday/President's Day)

Why Do I Need a Flu Vaccine Every Year?
A flu vaccine is needed every year because flu viruses are constantly changing. It's not unusual for new flu viruses to appear each year. The flu vaccine is formulated each year to keep up with the flu viruses as they change.
Also, multiple studies conducted over different seasons and across vaccine types and influenza virus subtypes have shown that the body's immunity to influenza viruses (acquired either through natural infection or vaccination) declines over time.
Getting vaccinated each year provides the best protection against influenza throughout flu season.

Acute appointments are made within 24 hours. Acute appointments are for situations that can not wait and should not be used for routine or long term problems. If there are no Acute appointments left, the nursing staff will assess the situation and determine when you need to be seen.

Telephone messages and Secure Messaging may be left for a variety of reasons. You can expect to receive a call or a message back from one member of the clinic team within 3 business working days.

For a background security screenings, please have your requesting party drop of the paperwork at the reception desk during business hours, no appointment needed. Your designated party will be contacted once all electronic and hard copy medical records have been reviewed and the USAHC-L social worker has reviewed the Family Advocacy Central Registry and the paperwork is complete. This process can usually be completed within a week but in certain situations may take up to 2 weeks. Please note that for chain of custody purposes, the background security check paperwork cannot be released to the person the screening is for and will only be released to the designated unit/worksite background security screening party.

For Medication Refills, leave a telephone consult or send a secure message to the clinic to see if you need an appointment or if we can assist you without a provider appointment.

Immunizations for military are usually on a walk-in, no appointment basis. Children usually need a well child appointment prior to any immunizations, but if the well child exam is current, then walk-in is okay. Our clinical nurse can let you know.

If Blood Pressure Checks are recommended by a provider, they can be done on a walk-in basis during business hours.
