Refueling Maintenance Team, Fuels Management Flight, 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 5th Mission Support Group has epitomized the 5 BW/CC's vision of mission ownership. During this period, Technical Sergeant Scott Eggleston and Senior Airman Kyle Turner brilliantly performed fuels check-point operations, executing more than 3,600 preventative maintenance actions on 21 general and special purpose vehicles, leading to an outstanding 93% Vehicle In-commission Rate. Their combined efforts were vital to 152 refuel and defuel operations to home station and transient aircraft, directly resulting in an outstanding 12-minute fuel truck to aircraft average response time that crushed the Air Force's 30-minute standard. Additionally, they accomplished 810 fuel nozzle safety checks to validate pin placement and seal integrity, enabling the safe delivery of more than 2.3 million gallons of aviation fuel. Finally, Sergeant Eggleston and Airman Turner performed maintenance on two C-300 ground product refuelers, repairing 12 mechanical/electrical defects, resulting in the delivery of 1,600 diesel gallons in support of the 5th Civil Engineer Squadron's snow removal efforts.
