The Beacon is March Air Reserve Base's weekly newspaper, produced by the 452nd Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs Office.
tabAdvertising and classifieds 
The Beacon's publisher, Aerotech News and Review, administers all advertisements and classified ads. Some categories of classifieds are free for active duty service members and March reservists, as well as dependents and retirees. All display ads and classified requests must be submitted by noon on Tuesday for the following Friday's paper. 877-247-9288
tabBack copies 
The Beacon staff keeps extra of copies of the current year's papers at the public affairs office. Papers dated January 2008 or newer are available in Aerotech News and Review's electronic Beacon archive.



The University of California Riverside Tomas Rivera Library keeps a microfiche collection of Beacons for many of the years between 1940 and 1994. The library's phone number is 951-827-4392.

News and achievement briefs
The Beacon publishes brief articles about upcoming events and the achievements of March members and squadrons. News briefs should include all details of the event (including a point of contact), and are due no later than 7 a.m. on Monday for the upcoming Friday's paper. Achievement briefs should be submitted soon after the award or accomplishment occurs.

Story ideas and reporting news
To report urgent news, call the public affairs office right away at 951-655-4137. To request Beacon coverage of an upcoming event or to share a story idea, contact the editor with as much lead time as possible.

Photograph submissions
The Beacon occasionally prints photographs submitted by readers. The photos need to be high-resolution and feature a Team March member or be taken at March. Email your photo to The Beacon editor to be considered for newspaper, website or social media publication. In the email, list the names and ranks of all people in the photo, photographer's name, date taken and describe what's going on in the picture.

Writing for The Beacon
While most of The Beacon's content is written by 452nd Air Mobility Wing staff members, the editor encourages submissions from Team March members or others who have an affiliation with the base. Always contact the editor for approval before beginning a story or commentary.
