Welcome to the Travis Legal Office web site. Our responsibilities are divided into the five following categories:

Operations Law involves advising Travis units, agencies and officials on matters that relate to our ability to carry out the mission at home and abroad. Issues range from interpretation of international law to state environmental regulation.

Adverse actions include courts-martial, non-judicial punishment, involuntary discharges, and other administrative actions such as barment. We also prosecute civilians who commit crimes on base.

Civil Law encompasses providing legal counsel on diverse actions including contracts, Freedom of Information Act requests, civilian personnel actions and line of duty determinations. 

Claims defend Travis against tort claims and recover money from third parties who injure Airmen or damage Air Force property.

Legal Assistance focuses on preparing active duty Air Force personnel to deploy. We provide wills, powers of attorney and general legal advice. We also provide dependents and retired personnel legal assistance on a space-available basis.

Need a notary, will or a power of attorney?


The Travis Legal Office is available for notary services and power of attorneys during the following days/hours.


Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 0800-1600


Tuesday and Thursday: 0800-1300


Please visit our website at https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil. Here you can make inputs for powers of attorneys, will worksheets, and other documents. A ticket number is generated at the end of the process.


Please bring your ticket number(s) with you when you visit the Legal Office and we will produce your documents.


Legal assistance and Will preparation is available for all active duty, retired personnel and their dependents on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 0800-1000.
