Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is a national resource, with outstanding scientific and technical capabilities. LLNL has for many years been a leader among Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories in protecting and managing commercially valuable intellectual property. The Industrial Partnerships Office (IPO) works to build collaborations and partnerships with other laboratories, research universities and U.S. industry to successfully commercialize technologies that advance our national and economic security.
Energized by the Bay Area innovation ecosystem, LLNL has a history of developing breakthrough technologies. IPO has links to entrepreneurs, venture investors, and university entrepreneurship centers. We are actively developing new mechanisms for commercializing LLNL technologies and monetizing intellectual property assets.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
LLNL has an appointed Technology Transfer Ombuds-Person. The role of the ombuds is to be an independent, impartial person, reporting to the Laboratory's Director, who can assist in resolving technology transfer concerns informally.
