APHIS values its many stakeholders and is committed to keeping all interested individuals, groups and organizations informed about relevant Agency news and information.
To increase transparency and information sharing, APHIS is now recording stakeholder calls. Audio recordings will be available for one year from the date of the original call.
On Monday, February 27, 2012, APHIS hosted a public meeting to discuss the Agency's budget, process improvement efforts, and modernization initiatives and give stakeholders the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the Agency's critical services. Along with the meeting, APHIS launched an electronic survey to get more detailed feedback from stakeholders, and more than 220 people responded providing their perspective on the Agency's essential services and opportunities for enhanced partnerships.
On July 17 and 18, 2012, APHIS and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) hosted the 2012 Agriculture Stakeholder Conference: Pests, Pathways, and Partnerships in Riverdale, Maryland. One major highlight of the conference was the panel discussions on leveraging resources for pest exclusion and on stakeholder outreach. Each panel discussion was followed by three breakout sessions looking at each issue through the plant pest, animal disease, or trade/industry perspective.
